Steps
Step 1. Choose an appropriate sock
If possible, use a mismatched sock finished at the bottom of the linen drawer; avoid using socks that you use regularly. Choose an ankle-length or medium-length sock, a longer sock would risk curling. A shorter stocking will tend to wrap around your bun keeping it in shape.
- Choose a fabric that does not "unravel" and does not burn creating too many loose threads. You'll need to cut the sock, so be prepared to mend the ends in an emergency.
- If possible, choose a sock of a color similar to that of your hair so that it is not recognizable through the locks.
Step 2. With sharp fabric scissors remove the front of the sock
Your goal is to get a fabric cylinder, so cut only the necessary part. If possible, cut along with the seam. This way you will get a straight and precise cut.
Step 3. Gather your hair in a ponytail
Roll the sock into a ring or donut shape, and slide it over the tail.
