Bugs Bunny? SpongeBob? Mickey and Minnie? Who doesn't know these classics? Creating a cartoon character is difficult, but with a little imagination you can make a magnificent one!
Steps
Step 1. Imagine the type of character you want to create
If you are doing a comic or cartoon then focus on the role it fills.
Step 2. Give it a personality
Shy, mean, nice or absolutely characterless. A character could be cheeky and malicious or quiet and mediocre.
Step 3. When deciding on his character, make sure there are strengths and weaknesses
You can't make a character that is completely perfect or 100% evil. For example, you could create a cute but somewhat selfish guy.
Step 4. You are now ready for the physical stretches
Is it a boy or a girl? How old is he? Remember that cartoons are exaggerated. So, if it's an animal, you can think of big ears or big eyes. Do you want to give him a big nose? What color will the hair or fur be? If it's an animal, what species? Draw your character.
Advice
-
Be creative!
Keep trying, if you don't like a character, come up with a new one
- Inspired by cartoons that are already there.
- When creating a character, try to use people you know as a role model. But don't give it the same name.
- When you bring your second character to life, think about how you want him to interact with the first one.
Warnings
- Don't come up with a perfect character, it will be boring. Weaknesses are very important.
- Don't get too stressed out on this project!
- Be careful with your gear. The pencils are pointed and you can prick your eyes or someone else's. The paper can cut.
