If you have a large list of passwords stored in the internet browser you normally use, you may run into usage problems when you update or change them. If you are concerned about the security of the data stored on your computer, deleting all passwords saved in your browser will help you make your web browsing safer. Regardless of the browser used, deleting the passwords stored within it takes a few moments and a few simple clicks.
Steps
Method 1 of 5: Google Chrome
Step 1. Press the button to access the Chrome main menu (☰)
It is located in the upper right corner of the window.
Step 2. Choose the "Settings" option
It is one of the items in the menu that appeared.
Step 3. Click the "Show advanced settings" link
It is located at the bottom of the "Settings" menu.
Step 4. Select the "Manage passwords" item
It is visible in the "Passwords and forms" section of the menu.
Step 5. Find the password to delete
You can use the search bar located at the top right of the page. Move the mouse pointer over the item to be deleted, then click the "X" icon that appears. This will remove the current password from the list.
Step 6. Delete all saved passwords
If you need to delete all the passwords stored in the browser, the simplest and fastest way to do this is to return to the "Settings" menu and press the Clear browsing data … button located in the "Privacy" section. Select the "Password" checkbox, choose the "All" time interval, then press the Clear data button. All passwords stored within Chrome will be immediately deleted.
Method 2 of 5: Internet Explorer
Step 1. Open the "Internet Options" system window
You can do this using the menu Tools or by clicking the gear icon in the upper corner of the browser window. If the menu bar is not visible, press the alt="Image" key on your keyboard. At this point select "Internet Options" from the menu that appears.
Step 2. Find the "Browsing History" section
It is located within the General tab. Press the Delete… button.
Step 3. Select the "Password" and "Cookie" check buttons
In this way, all passwords and access information to sites and web services in Internet Explorer will be selected for deletion. Press the Delete button to actually remove the data.
Method 3 of 5: Mozilla Firefox
Step 1. Press the button to access the Firefox main menu (☰)
It is located in the upper right corner of the window.
Step 2. Choose the "Options" item
Step 3. Go to the "Privacy and Security" tab
Step 4. Open the saved password management window
Press the button Saved logins …
Step 5. Find the password to delete
You can use the search bar located at the top right of the page to search for a specific password.
Step 6. Delete a single password
Select the item you want to delete, then press the Remove button located at the bottom of the window.
Step 7. Erase all saved passwords
If you need to delete all login credentials stored in Firefox, simply hit the Remove All button. In this case you will be asked to confirm your action in order to continue. Press the Yes button.
Method 4 of 5: Google Chrome for Mobile
Step 1. Press the "Menu" button
It is located in the upper right corner of the screen.
Step 2. Choose the "Settings" option
You may need to scroll down the menu to find the item indicated.
Step 3. Tap "Password"
The complete list of all passwords stored in the device will be displayed.
Step 4. Select the password you want to delete
Unlike the version of the browser for desktop and laptop systems, the version for mobile devices does not have a search functionality. In this case you will have to consult the list manually to locate and select the password you want to delete.
Step 5. Delete the password
After selecting it press the "Delete" button. This will remove the chosen item from the list.
If Chrome is synced with your Google account on multiple devices, the chosen password will be deleted on all those connected to the profile
Step 6. Clear all passwords
Return to the "Settings" menu, then choose the "Privacy" item located in the "Advanced" section.
- Tap the "Clear Browsing Data" option visible at the bottom of the screen;
- Select the "Saved passwords" checkbox;
- Press the "Clear data" button and confirm your action.
Method 5 of 5: Safari for iOS devices
Step 1. Launch the Settings app
The relative icon is located directly on the Home of the device.
Step 2. Select the "Safari" item
It is usually located at the bottom of the fourth group of options in the "Settings" menu.
Step 3. Choose the "Password and Autofill" item
From this section you will be able to change the password management settings saved in the device.
Step 4. Tap "Saved Passwords"
The complete list of all passwords in Safari will be displayed.
Step 5. Press the "Edit" button
It is visible in the upper right corner of the screen.
Step 6. Select the passwords you want to clear
After hitting the "Edit" button you will be able to choose which passwords to delete. Once the selection is complete, simply press the "Delete" button in the upper left corner of the screen to delete.
Step 7. Erase all passwords saved in Safari
Return to the Safari configuration settings menu. Scroll through the items to locate and select the "Clear website and history data" option. You will be asked to confirm your action before you can continue.
