Do you believe in Magic? We would all like to have the power to influence the world in supernatural ways. Although science has never found evidence to support the efficacy of spells and magic, many practitioners of the esoteric world, witchcraft and other occult arts believe that spells can harness invisible forces to satisfy desires. Whether for love, success, spiritual growth or revenge, spells combine symbolism, special materials, verbal spells, the position of the celestial bodies, concentration and faith in rituals to make your will a reality.
Steps
Method 1 of 3: Basics for a Spell
Step 1. Purify yourself before any spells
Before attempting to perform magic, it is necessary that your body and mind are in the right state, freeing you from any doubts, demons or spiritual impurities that could distract you or ruin the spell. Theoretically, purifying yourself should already be a ritual in itself, you have to leave your body relaxed and your mind clear.
- Take a bath. Give yourself a long bath, make your skin completely clean and release the tension in your muscles.
- Wear appropriate clothing. If you have any clothes or other special garments to do magic, put them on. If not, choose simple but formal clothes that are light, comfortable and clean. You're asking the divine forces for a favor, so dress to show some reverence. If no one is around, some Wicca disciples perform naked magic rites.
- Meditate until your mind is clear. Take a few deep breaths to improve your attention and eliminate distracting thoughts.
- Grease your body with appropriate oils. Different essential oils can be used for various purposes, so if you find one that seems suitable for you, put some on your forehead with your fingers and, if you like, on your hands, hair, face and even chest.
Step 2. Purify the environment
If you plan to act inside, make sure you are not disturbed and clean the environment in which you want to perform the spell. Visualize negative energies to drive them out along with distractions as you clean up.
When you have physically cleansed the environment, purify it spiritually by burning some incense, sprinkling a little salt water or holy water, or playing some clear notes of a musical instrument
Step 3. Create a circle or altar
You need a consecrated space to perform your ritual. This can be either a circle that protects you from the interference of spirits and negative energies, or an altar where you focus your dedication to a particular deity, element, or a combination of both. You can perform the ritual inside the circle or in front of the altar.
- Draw a circle large enough for you to sit in, or a five-pointed star within the circle (called a pentacle). You can physically draw it or just trace it in the air with your finger or a wand. Visualize the protective energy coming out of the arm as you draw, sealing the circle in a bubble of light. You can mark the cardinal points on the circle or the points of the star with candles, stones, or some other symbolic object.
- Create a small raised platform on which you will place a statuette of a deity or some other symbolic representation of the divine. It doesn't have to be complicated: a stack of books is fine, if you treat it with reverence. Consider adding candles, crystals, incense, or a couple of items that are spiritually close to you, such as a small heirloom or your spell book.
Step 4. Invoke the divine
Verbally summon a higher power to bless your spell. It can be a general prayer in asking for the help of some force or deity, or something specific that you have written for this spell. Your invocation may also include gestures, music, dances, the ritual lighting of candles or the particular position of objects.
Step 5. Focus your energy on your desire
Visualize the object of your spell and imagine the light flowing from you towards it. If you visualize the wish, it comes true. The more you see these energies vividly with your mind's eye, the more real they will be.
Step 6. Recite the spell
For each spell, write a short verse describing your wish and ask for it to be fulfilled. It doesn't have to be rhyming, but alliterations, cadences, rhymes, and other poetic structures can help you focus and remember it. Explain the spell clearly and confidently as you visualize it.
Step 7. Seal the ritual
A good spell should have some "trigger" component, which is an element that represents your willingness to enter the universe. Tear or burn a piece of paper with your wish written on it (or a symbol representing your wish); throw a stone or symbolic object, burn snuff on a candle, or pour or drink a potion.
Step 8. Give thanks and clean up
Be grateful to any specific deities you have invoked. Bring the excess energy back to the ground by visualizing it as it flows through the ground. Delete the circle, if necessary, and disassemble the altar, if you don't intend to use it again. Gather your tools and leave the room. Your spell is over. Consider doing something trivial, like eating something, and come back to yourself.
Method 2 of 3: Occult Considerations
Step 1. Look at the sky
Many wizards take into consideration the phases of the moon, the time of day, and other astrological configurations that they believe are extremely important to the effectiveness of any spell. For example, a spell that aims to create some kind of new beginning should be cast when the moon is waxing, so that the wish can come to fruition when the moon becomes full. Some occult research will help you figure out how to optimize time for spells.
Step 2. Coordinate your colors
Colors have different meanings in different magical systems. Once you've found their meaning, pick a color or two to match your spell and use colored candles or crystals to engage in the ritual.
Step 3. Use herbs, oils, stones and natural objects
For experienced occultists, all of these elements have some sort of magical meaning. Go to a new age shop and collect the materials that energize your spells.
Step 4. Recall the benevolence of higher powers
Different occultists call all sorts of different gods and religious figures to work on their magic. Find a system of spiritual symbols that works for you, and invoke them in your spells. Be warned though, some of these spirits have ideas of their own and can manipulate your intentions if you can't control them.
Step 5. Have faith
Basically, casting a spell is basically directing your mental energies towards a goal. Even if something supernatural does not occur after the spell, it allows you to clearly identify your goal and ritualizing it can help you focus, give you confidence, and make you work harder to achieve it. The more you believe in the power of magic, the more likely it is that it will have a positive effect on you.
Method 3 of 3: The Seashell Spell
Step 1. Find a shell in shallow water
Take it and dry it well. This is a simple magic formula to allow a simple wish to come true. Use it to launch your invocation into the universe, inviting the power of the waters and the moon.
Step 2. Choose or create a symbol of your wish and place it on the shell
You can also draw it, or look for different symbols relating to the topic of your desire (love, family, health, success and so on). Draw on the surface of the shell with chalk, charcoal or something else that can be washed in water.
Step 3. Place the shell on the edge of the sea or lake
Place it in a spot where the waves will be able to wash the shell when the tide rises. The symbol must face up, towards the moon.
Observe the phases of the moon when you do this. Use the crescent moon to get something and the waning moon if you want to get rid of something
Step 4. Draw a triangle in the sand
The shell should be in the center of the triangle.
You can draw meaningful phrases and words in the sand, inside the triangle. Alternatively, you can write them directly on the shell
Step 5. Chant this spell while facing the moon
Focus on your desire and try to pronounce the spell with reverence and conviction.

Step 6. Leave the area with the belief that your wish will come true
When the tide rises, it should wash away the writing from the shell and your desire will be taken by the universe, by the Great One or by any deity you believe in. You should notice the results in 7-28 days.
