Making hummingbird nectar at home is very simple, it will make them happy and save you money. Also, this nectar contains no dyes, which are bad for hummingbirds!
Steps

Step 1. Mix some sugar and water:
1/5 of sugar and 4/5 of water. Here is a simple scheme to make the task easier for you:
- 1 teaspoon of sugar and 4 of water
- 3/4 of a teaspoon of sugar and 3 of water
- 1/2 of sugar and 2 of water

Step 2. Mix sugar and water together
Boil them!

Step 3. Let it cool

Step 4. Fill the bird feeder every 2 days

Step 5. Refrigerate each solution for up to one week

Step 6. Change the hummingbird nectar every 2 days
Do this even more often if you notice mold formation or fermentation.

Step 7. Clean the bird feeder using a solution of vinegar and water
Do this every time you put more hummingbird nectar in the manger.
