Sometimes, saying a simple "I love you" isn't enough, or maybe you just feel embarrassed to say that to your mother. Don't worry, you can express your affection by writing a card or a letter, or maybe doing some nice things for her, acting lovingly or giving her a special gift.
Steps
Method 1 of 5: Write a Card or Letter
Step 1. Create your own card or letter
By making it yourself you will show her the time you took to say "I love you".
- Make a card in the shape of a heart. Fold a piece of red or pink construction paper in half. Cut out a half heart, starting with a curve at the top and working your way down. Write on it like on a normal card which, once opened, will become a heart.
- Use watercolors to create a cute background. Make sure you let them dry before writing on them.
- Start with a blank piece of construction paper in your favorite color. Make a heart to put in the center.
Step 2. Write how much you love her
Include a special message to show her your attention.
- You could write things like, "I'm so happy you're my mom. You are really worth so much to me and I appreciate everything you do. Thank you for being there when I need it. I love you!"
- Try writing "I love you" in other languages. Fill in the front of the card with the same sentence in other languages. You can use an online automatic translator or simply visit a site that translates the sentence. You can start with "Jeg elsker dig" in Danish and "Ik hou van je" in Dutch, then continue with "Je t'aime" in French, "Ich liebe dich" in German, "Te quiero" in Spanish and end with "Chăn rák kun" in Thai.
- Include a poem, yours or someone else's. You can write a special poem for your mom, but if you don't feel like doing it, you can use someone else's words and write the author.
- List specific things he has done. Thank your mom for specific things and tell her what you like about her. You can also turn it into an acronym for the alphabet, by writing something you like or appreciate for each letter. You can also simplify it a bit and use its name for the initials.
Step 3. Decorate your card
Add some decorations to make it special.
- Add some dried flowers. You can pick wild flowers and place them between the pages of a book to dry. If you are afraid of marking the book, fold the flowers into a piece of paper first. Glue them onto the card in a cute composition.
- Collect scraps of paper and cute things. Add them to the card as a decoration.
- Add some sewing pieces. Use some thread to sew the outline of the paper or write your message on the front of the card.
Step 4. Make him find it
Wrap the card in a piece of paper with his name written on it and leave it somewhere so he can find it.
Method 2 of 5: Show Affection
Step 1. Give your mom hugs and kisses
Show her affection without having to ask for it.
Step 2. Massage her shoulders
If she looks like she had a difficult day, give her a short shoulder massage, which will show her your attention.
Step 3. Smile at her
Even if you're having a hard day, try to smile at her instead of being grumpy; will greatly appreciate your positive attitude.
Step 4. Don't reject her kisses and hugs in public
You may feel embarrassed to be hugged by your mom, but don't hurt her feelings.
Step 5. Be understanding
Your mom is also wrong. If she forgets to pick you up or prepare your favorite meal for lunch, tell her it's okay, instead of getting angry.
Step 6. Share your life
Your mom wants to know how you feel and what happens to you. By sharing your moods and your days, you make her participate and happy.
Step 7. Encourage her, support her and listen to her
Your mom has bad days, as well as things she loves to do. Be there when she needs it and encourage her in her passions.
Step 8. Say "Thank you" to her
Sometimes, your mom can feel too underappreciated. Notice the things she does for you and tell her you appreciate them very much.
Method 3 of 5: Do Nice Things for Her
Step 1. Prepare dinner for her
You don't have to cook something sophisticated, she'll love whatever you do.
For a simple meal, try making spaghetti. Cook the pasta and heat a ready-made (or self-made) sauce on the stove. Add a simple main course and a side salad
Step 2. Cook her favorite dessert
Hot, freshly baked desserts are a sure way to say "I love you".
Step 3. Ask her what she wants in a day and then make it happen
Make sure you turn off your phone, and pay attention to her while you are doing the activities she wants.
Give her suggestions if she can't think of anything. Maybe you could go to the library, the cinema or the spa, or maybe even have a simple picnic in the park
Step 4. Wash the car
Take your car to the car wash or wash it yourself. Do not forget to throw away the garbage accumulated inside and vacuum it. Also take the time to sweep the dashboards and other surfaces.
Step 5. Clean the house
Nothing says "I love you" to a mother quite like housekeeping.
Step 6. Bring her a cup of tea or coffee
If your mom sat down for a short break, bring her a glass or cup of something she likes to help her relax.
Step 7. Offer to keep an eye on a younger brother or sister
You can give your mom a break, which will surely please her, so that she is free to go and do something fun.
Method 4 of 5: Express it Clearly
Step 1. Write "I love you" on the (clean) table with his favorite treat
Be sure to keep any pets away and advise other family members to leave them on the table. You can also leave a note together to tell your mom that the thought is for her.
You can also use cute candles if you handle them carefully
Step 2. Leave sticky notes around the house
Write "I love you", "Kisses and hugs" or some other nice message on it. You can also write such messages on plain paper to leave in places where she can find them, like her breadbasket or her makeup bag.
Step 3. Write "I love you" on your mom's car window with shoe polish
Just make sure you don't get the polish on the paint and leave room for it to see where it's going.
Step 4. Make treats and fill them with treats that say nice things about your mom
You can also buy ready-made ones, remove the present surprises with tweezers and put yours in their place.
Method 5 of 5: Give a Gift
Step 1. Find some "love" jewels
You can find necklaces, bracelets and earrings that clearly show and express affection and love by letting your mom know you love her.
You can also make them yourself by hand with letter-shaped beads or wire
Step 2. Make a playlist for her
Try to find songs in your music that she likes, of any genre, from classical to contemporary included. Add them to her phone or MP3 player, or burn her to a CD if it's old fashioned.
Step 3. Buy his favorite treat
You will show your attention and give it a touch to cheer you up.
Step 4. Give her a scarf or hat
You can also knit or crochet one.
