This article explains how to block phone calls received by a particular user on WhatsApp, but also how to disable notifications for new calls on Android. There is no method to block all phone calls on the application, but blocking a user and / or notifications allows you to achieve the same result.
Steps
Part 1 of 4: Block a Contact
Step 1. Open WhatsApp on Android
The icon looks like a white telephone handset on a green background. It is usually found on the main screen.
- If you block a contact, the user in question will not be able to call or send you messages on WhatsApp.
- When you block a contact, you will stop receiving their messages as well, not just phone calls.
Step 2. Tap the Chat tab
It is located at the top of the screen.
Step 3. Tap the name of the person you want to block
The conversation with the user in question will open.
If you don't see any conversations with this person, tap the icon at the bottom right to start one, then select the contact from the list
Step 4. Tap the person's name
It is located at the top of the chat. Your personal profile will open.
Step 5. Scroll down and tap Block
This option is found almost at the bottom of the menu. A confirmation message will appear.
Step 6. Tap Block to confirm
This way you will no longer receive phone calls or messages from this user.
Part 2 of 4: Disable WhatsApp Notifications for a Specific User
Step 1. Open WhatsApp on your Android device
The icon looks like a green speech bubble containing a telephone handset. It is usually found on the main screen.
Step 2. Tap the Chat tab
It is located at the top of the screen.
Step 3. Tap the name of the person you don't want to receive notifications from
If you don't see any conversations with this user, tap the icon at the bottom right to start one and select their name from the list.
Step 4. Tap the person's name
It is at the top of the conversation. This will open your profile.
Step 5. Swipe the "Mute Notifications" button to activate it
A pop-up window will appear.
Step 6. Select a duration and tap Ok
Notifications will be blocked for the specified time interval.
If you want to continue receiving notifications of calls and messages from this person on the screen, but prefer to prevent the phone from ringing, check the box next to "Show notifications"
Part 3 of 4: Disable All Call Notifications on WhatsApp
Step 1. Open WhatsApp on your Android device
The icon depicts a white telephone handset inside a green dialogue bubble. You can usually find it on the main screen.
Step 2. Tap ⁝
It is located at the top right. A menu will appear.
Step 3. Tap Settings
Step 4. Tap Notifications
The icon for this option looks like a bell.
Step 5. Scroll down and tap Ringtone
It is located in the "Calls" section.
Step 6. Select None and touch Ok.
New calls received on WhatsApp will have no ringtone.
Step 7. Tap the button to go back
You will then return to the "Notifications" section.
Step 8. Scroll down and tap Vibrate
This entry is also found in the "Calls" section.
Step 9. Select Off
This will disable the vibration for future phone calls on WhatsApp. You will continue to receive calls, but without any sound.
Part 4 of 4: Disable All WhatsApp Notifications
Step 1. Open the Android "Settings"
They are usually found in the app drawer. You can also see the "Settings" icon by swiping your finger from the top of the screen to open the notification bar.
Step 2. Tap Notifications
This option is usually found in the section titled "Device".
Step 3. Scroll down and tap WhatsApp

Step 4. Swipe the "Block All" button to activate it
WhatsApp will no longer notify you when you receive new calls or messages.
