Has eBay lost some of its former glory? Or maybe you want to avoid the temptation to buy things you shouldn't? If for any reason you have decided to close an eBay account, here's what to do.
Steps
Step 1. You must be sure you want to close the account
Once your account is closed, eBay will not allow you to open another one with the same user ID or email address. You will only be able to open a new account using a new user ID and a new email address.
- If you want to stop receiving unwanted emails, you can inform eBay without having to close your account; in this way you will no longer receive emails from eBay.
- If you have problems, such as payment difficulties, you can manage your accounts without having to close eBay.
- Contact eBay if there are any unresolved issues that you feel you can resolve without having to close your account. Remember that closing an account means losing your feedback history and email or user ID.
Step 2. Log in
You must log in to the account in your name to be able to close it.
Step 3. Check if there are any sums you still have to pay to individuals or sellers
If so, you have to pay first.
If, on the other hand, you have to receive the money, you must request a refund "before" closing the account
Step 4. Find the link to close the account
Go to the "close account page and click" Send a request to close the account ".

You will be asked why you are closing your account; answer honestly and as directed. Then click on the line "No, please close my account" and click to confirm that you have read the information given by eBay on account closure.

The account will not be closed immediately: eBay imposes a waiting period to verify that all transactions are closed.
- You cannot make quotes, enter lists, buy or modify your personal data during this period. You will, however, have access to your personal details.
- An email will be sent to you to comply with the closure of your account, once the waiting period has passed.
Advice
- If you have left feedback to other users, it will remain on eBay.
- If your account has been suspended, you will not be able to close it until the reasons for the suspension are resolved.
Warnings
- If you used your email as a form of user ID, please change it before closing your account. All your comments under that name will remain, unlike your email address.
- You must return any product purchased on eBay, to avoid having to pay after deleting your account.
