This article explains how to delete an Uber account using a computer, smartphone or tablet. Your account, after you have submitted the cancellation request, will be immediately disabled, but you will have 30 days to reactivate it in case you change your mind. After 30 days from the date of cancellation, your account will be permanently deleted from Uber's servers.
Steps
Method 1 of 2: Using the Uber Mobile App
Step 1. Launch the Uber app
It is characterized by a black icon with the white writing "Uber" inside.
If you haven't signed in with your Uber profile yet, you'll need to do so now by typing the associated email address (or phone number) and security password into the appropriate text fields
Step 2. Press the ☰ button
It is characterized by three horizontal and parallel lines and is located in the upper left corner of the screen.
Step 3. Scroll down the menu that appeared and select the Settings item
It is displayed at the bottom of the menu.
Step 4. Scroll down the new list of options to select the Privacy Settings item
It is displayed at the bottom of the page.
Step 5. Select the red Delete Account link
It is displayed at the bottom of the menu.
Step 6. Enter your Uber account password and press the Verify button
A confirmation message will be displayed.
Your account will be deactivated and will remain in this state for 30 days following the cancellation date, after which it will be permanently deleted. If you change your mind during this time, you can reactivate your profile simply by logging in with the corresponding username and password
Step 7. Press the Continue button to confirm your action
Your account will be deactivated immediately.
Method 2 of 2: Using the Uber Website
Step 1. Visit the following page of the Uber website
You can do this using the internet browser on your computer, smartphone or tablet.
Step 2. Click the Delete Uber Account link or tap it with your finger
It is black and is displayed in the "Delete account via browser" section of the page.
Step 3. Enter the email address associated with your Uber account
Step 4. Click the Next button or press it with your finger
Step 5. Enter your security password and click the Next button
Your Uber account information will be displayed along with a message informing you that your profile will be deleted immediately.
If you have activated two-step authentication for your account, an SMS will be sent to you containing your identity verification code. In this case, type the code, which was sent to you via SMS, in the text field on the screen and click on the button Verify to continue.
Step 6. Click on the blue Continue button
It is displayed at the bottom of the page.
Step 7. Select the reason you have decided to cancel your Uber account
A confirmation message will be displayed.
Your account will be deactivated and will remain in this state for 30 days following the cancellation date, after which it will be permanently deleted. If you change your mind during this time, you can reactivate your profile simply by logging in with the corresponding username and password
Step 8. Click the blue Delete Account button or press it with your finger
Your account will be deactivated immediately.

- You can create a new Uber account at any time either using the mobile app or using the official website.
- You can also use your Facebook profile to create an Uber account.
