Method 1 of 2: Activate Your Device's DFU Mode
Step 1. Connect the device to your computer
To activate DFU mode, connect the device to the computer using the appropriate USB cable. Make sure iTunes is already running on your computer.
Step 2. Turn off the device
Press and hold the power button. As soon as the slide off switch appears, slide it to the right. Wait for the shutdown procedure to finish before continuing.

After the necessary 3 seconds, press and hold the 'Home' button on your device while continuing to press the power button as well. Press and hold both buttons for 10 seconds.

After exactly 10 seconds, release the power button while continuing to press the 'Home' button. After a few seconds, iTunes will notify you with a message, informing you that it has detected a device. Your device screen will remain off if the procedure is successful.

Step 1. Activate DFU mode to 'downgrade' your device
'Downgrade' means installing an older version of iOS. To do this you will need to activate your device's DFU mode.
DFU mode is activated before the device loads the operating system. This way you will be able to modify system files before access is blocked
