Apple Headphones with Remote and Mic can do more than just play music. Not all features described here work with all models.
Steps
Step 1. Learn to use the keys
- The + key is used to increase the volume.
- The - key is used to reduce the volume.
- The middle button is Play / Pause for music, and Answer / Hang up for the phone.
Step 2. Learn the controls for music, podcasts, audiobooks and videos:
- Play / Pause a song - press the center button once.
- Skip song - press the center button 2 times.
- Fast Forward - press the center button 2 times and hold it down.
- Previous song - press the center button 3 times.
- Rewind - press the center center button 3 times and hold it down.
- Volume up - + key
- Volume down - key -
Step 3. Learn the controls for the phone:
- Answer call - press the center button
- Hang up - press the center button
- Reject a call - press and hold the center button for 2 seconds and release it. Wait for the 2 beeps that confirm the operation.
- Put the call on hold while switching to another call - press the center button. Repeat after wait to switch to the other call.
- Hang up the current call and answer an incoming call - press and hold the center button for 2 seconds. Upon release you will hear 2 beeps confirming the operation.
