If you find that the simple lash curler is not enough to get the effect you want, heating it can help you curl your lashes in a defined and lasting way. The ideal would be to curl them when you finish making up your eyes, but before applying mascara and possibly false eyelashes. Whether you prefer to use a regular, electric or battery-operated lash curler, heating this tool is easy and can give you great results!
Steps
Method 1 of 2: Heat a Metal Eyelash Curler
Step 1. Wash the curler with soap and water
Rub some makeup remover or soap for sensitive skin on the pad and metal parts of the curler with a cotton pad or sponge. Make sure no makeup residue remains on the eraser or metal areas. Rinse the detergent and residue well with water.
If makeup residue remains on the curler pad, they can form lumps of mascara and prevent you from achieving a good curve
Step 2. Heat the curler with a hair dryer
Expose the end of the curler to the blast of hot air for 10 to 20 seconds. Use a blow dryer with a nozzle and point it towards the vise. Let the curler cool down to room temperature to prevent burns.
Be careful when touching the metal parts of the curler. Since they absorb most of the heat, they can burn the skin
Step 3. If you don't have a hair dryer, heat the curler with hot water
Let it warm under running water for 10 to 20 seconds. Let it cool until it reaches a temperature that is pleasant to the touch.
Step 4. Check the temperature of the curler on the back of your hand
Make sure you can keep it in contact with your skin for at least 3 to 5 seconds without burning yourself. If it is hot, let it cool for 10 to 20 seconds before trying again.
If the curler is too hot for the skin, it will be too hot for the lashes. Exposing the hair to an excessively high temperature can damage it and even cause it to come off
Step 5. Curl your lashes
Gently close the hot lash curler on the hair. Start at the hairline and work your way up to the tips for a more natural result. Repeat for 2 or 3 times.
Curl your lashes, make them even thicker and longer using mascara
Method 2 of 2: Using an Electric Eyelash Curler
Step 1. Clean the electric eyelash curler using isopropyl alcohol
Before starting, check that it is off, then pour some alcohol on a cotton swab and wipe it on the area of the device that comes into contact with the eyelashes until all residual dirt is eliminated.
Do not use soap and water to clean an electric eyelash curler. Wet this type of device (whether it is battery or electric) can damage the circuit and ruin it
Step 2. Prepare the curler with all necessary accessories
If it is battery operated, examine the battery compartment to determine which type you need. If it's electric, plug it into a power outlet.
Most battery powered eyelash curlers require AAA type ones
Step 3. Follow the instructions in the manual to find out how to turn on the eyelash curler
Some require you to hold down the power button until the desired temperature is reached. Others have a power button that needs to be pressed once.
Step 4. Let the curler cool until it has reached room temperature
Before using it, place it on the back of your hand. If you feel an unpleasant sensation, then it is too hot for your lashes. Wait for 10 to 20 seconds before trying again.
Step 5. Use the eyelash curler
Gently close it on the lashes 2 or 3 times. Work from the hairline to the tips. Complete the procedure by applying mascara for even thicker and longer lashes.
Warnings
