Steps
Part 1 of 2: Create an ISO Image from a DVD
Step 1. Insert the DVD you want to copy
Click the DVD drive button to open it, insert the disc and then close it. If you have a laptop without a DVD / CD tray, simply insert the disc into the slot provided.
Step 2. Download a program to create ISO files
An ISO file is a single file that represents an entire CD or DVD. Windows doesn't have a stock program to create it, so you'll need to download one. There are many available, but a recommended one is, for example, Alcohol 120%.
Step 3. Run the "Wizard for Making Pictures"
Open Alcohol 120% and click on "Wizard to Make Pictures" from the menu on the left.
Step 4. Select the DVD drive you want to copy from
Next to "CD / DVD Drive", you can see a drop-down list. Select the drive where your DVD is located.
Step 5. Name your file
Click on "Reading Options" and type a name for the file next to the box that says "image name".
Step 6. Select a destination for your file
There are two ways to do this. Either write the desired one in the box next to "image destination" or, alternatively, click on the folder icon and browse the desired one.
Step 7. Select an image format
Click in the drop-down list next to "image format" and select "Standard ISO Image File" (*.iso).
Step 8. Save the file to your hard drive
Click on "Start". When a window for Data Destination Management appears, choose a speed and click "OK". Wait for the ISO file to be saved.
Part 2 of 2: Burn the ISO Image to a DVD
Step 1. Insert a new DVD
Take out the disc you copied and insert a blank DVD in its place.
Step 2. Select the file you want to burn
Find the ISO image you just created. Right click on the image and click on "Burn Disc Image". This will open the Windows Image Burner.
Step 3. Burn the DVD
Choose the drive where your CD is located from the drop-down list and click on "Burn". Wait for the burning process to finish.
Step 4. Exit the application
When the burning process is complete, the DVD compartment will automatically open and a confirmation message will appear. Click "Close" to exit the application. You have successfully burned your DVD!
