This article shows you how to remove a contact from your Facebook friends list to prevent them from seeing your posts and you theirs. You can proceed through the mobile app and also on the desktop website. If, on the other hand, you want to keep the friendship, but don't want to read the posts of a particular user, you can stop following them.
Steps
Method 1 of 2: Mobile Device
Step 1. Open the Facebook application
It is represented by a dark blue icon with a white "f". If you are already logged in on your mobile or tablet, this will allow you to open the "news" page.
If you are not logged in yet, enter your email address (or mobile number) and password to continue
Step 2. Open the friend's profile page
Type its name in the search bar located at the top of the screen; when his profile appears in the drop-down list, tap the name to access his personal page.
Step 3. Tap the Friends icon

Step 4. Tap Remove from Friends

Step 5. Choose Confirm when prompted

Step 1. Log in to the Facebook website

Step 2. Go to your friend's profile page

Step 4. Click Remove from Friends

Advice
- Unless the person you unsubscribe is using a third-party browser extension, they won't get a notification. But remember that he can still read your comments on content posted by mutual friends, just as you can read his.
- If you want a user to have absolutely no access to your profile and posts you post on mutual friends' pages, block them.
Warnings
- If you want to befriend this person again, you need to send them another request.
