Cleaning the Nutribullet is pretty simple, but you should use some special methods to do it right. With a little soap and elbow grease, you can make sure you get rid of even the smallest residue of food, so that when you want to use it again it's perfectly clean. By cleaning the glasses, blades and blender base, you can be sure you are treating the ingredients with a clean and sanitized tool.
Steps
Part 1 of 3: Cleaning the Nutribullet Glasses and Blades
Step 1. Unscrew the blade from the cup
If the glass is still attached to the base, unscrew it before washing it. Place the different parts that make up the Nutribullet on a work surface and unplug it from the power supply.
Step 2. Wash the glass by hand or place it on the top shelf of the dishwasher
The safest way to clean the Nutribullet glass is by hand. Rinse it under hot water and use a sponge and dish soap to wash it thoroughly inside and out. You can also put it in the top basket of the dishwasher and set a normal wash cycle.
- Do not use a high temperature wash cycle if you put the Nutribullet glass in the dishwasher.
- Do not immerse any part of the Nutribullet in boiling water when you wash it by hand.
Step 3. Wash the blades with water and detergent
It is important that the blades are cleaned by hand only. Use a sponge and two drops of dish soap to clean the underside of the blades and remove any food residue or buildup. Do not put your hands and fingers close to the blades as they are very sharp, so you could easily cut yourself.
Do not put the portion of the Nutribullet with the blades in the dishwasher. The plastic parts could deform and melt due to boiling water, as a result the Nutribullet would become unusable
Step 4. Dry the glass and blades
Wipe the inside and outside of the glass with a dry cloth to dry it. Do the same with the piece on which the blades are mounted. Alternatively, you can drain both sides in the drainer to let them air dry. When they are dry, you can use them again. You should wash the blades and the glass every time you use the blender.
Part 2 of 3: Clean the Base Containing the Electric Motor
Step 1. Unplug the Nutribullet from the socket
Before cleaning this part of the blender, it is important to disconnect it from the power supply. Remove the plug completely from the socket.
Don't just turn it off. You could still be killed by an electric shock if parts of the engine get wet
Step 2. Clean the base with a damp rag
Place a damp rag under hot water and then wring it out completely. Use it to clean every exterior and interior surface. Remove any food residue that has soiled it or stuck to the base of the blender. You can also use a citrus detergent to clean this part of the Nutribullet.
- Citrus cleaners use the natural oils of oranges, lemons, etc. to remove stubborn dirt and food build-up.
- The essential oils also give a pleasant fragrance to clean surfaces.
- Never immerse the base with the electric motor in water.
- And don't put it in the dishwasher.
Step 3. Wait until the base is completely dry before using the blender again
Rub it with a dry cloth and then let it air dry for a while before using it again. You should clean the base of the Nutribullet once a week or whenever food falls on it.
Part 3 of 3: Clean the Inside of the Glass by Blending Soap and Water in it
Step 1. Fill the glass with water and detergent
First fill it 2/3 full with hot water, then add two drops of regular dish soap.
You can also add coarsely chopped lemon peels to make it easier to clean the inside of the glass
Step 2. Screw the shatter blade to the bottom of the cup
Turn it counterclockwise on the cup lid. Keep rotating it until it is fully engaged.
The shattering blade consists of a single metal strip with the ends bent towards the bottom of the glass
Step 3. Hook the cup to the base with the motor for 20-30 seconds
After reattaching the blade, turn the glass over so that it is facing down. Now place it on top of the base and push it down slightly until the blades start spinning. Blend the water with the detergent for about 20-30 seconds.
Step 4. Empty and rinse the glass
Pour the soapy water down the sink drain. Turn on the tap and rinse the inside of the glass until you are sure you have removed any soap residue.
Step 5. Dry the glass and blades
Wipe the inside and outside of the glass with a dry cloth to dry it. Do the same with the piece on which the blades are mounted. Alternatively, you can drain both sides in the drainer to let them air dry. When they are dry, you can use Nutribullet again. This method should be used whenever there are stains or accumulations of food inside the glass that are difficult to remove using simply the sponge or the dishwasher or if you forgot to wash the blender after using it and something has gone wrong in the inside of the glass.
