When your Samsung Galaxy S3 freezes, doesn't respond to commands or has problems with sound or phone calls, the best way to fix the situation is to restart the device. If a restart doesn't solve the problem, you can perform a hard reset of the device from the settings menu or by pressing a combination of buttons.
Steps
Method 1 of 4: Reboot with External Buttons
Step 1. Press and hold the Power button, located on the right side of the Galaxy S3
Step 2. Select “Shut down
”
Step 3. Select "OK" when you are informed that you are about to turn off the device
It will take several seconds for the phone to shut down completely.
Step 4. Press and hold the Power button until the phone restarts
It will take several seconds for the phone to turn on again and load the operating system.
Step 5. Verify that the problems have been resolved
If you're still having trouble, try resetting your phone by following methods three or four of the article.
Method 2 of 4: Restart by Removing the Battery
Step 1. Turn off your Samsung Galaxy S3
Step 2. Turn the phone over so you can see the back
Step 3. Put your fingertips into the notch above the phone's camera, and lift off the battery cover
Step 4. Put your fingers in the space in the upper left of the battery compartment, and remove it
Step 5. Reinsert the battery into the phone making sure the metal contacts on the battery line up with those on the phone
Step 6. Replace the back cover of the phone and press along its edges to secure it
Step 7. Turn on the device and verify that the problems have been resolved

Step 1. Press the "Settings" icon from the Home screen of your Samsung Galaxy S3
Step 2. Press the "Accounts" tab
