This article shows how to manually download videos received via WhatsApp on an Android device.
Steps
Step 1. Open WhatsApp
The icon looks like a white telephone handset on a green background. You can find it in the app drawer.
Step 2. Turn off automatic downloads
Before you can manually download videos, you need to disable the feature that allows you to save them automatically. Here's how to do it:
- Touch ⁝;
- Touch Settings;
- Touch Use of data and archive;
- Touch Automatic media download;
- Select When using the mobile network and choose No media;
- Select When connected via Wi-Fi and choose No media;
- Select When you are roaming and select No media;
- Tap the arrow at the top left to return to the main WhatsApp screen.
Step 3. Tap Chat
This tab is located on the top left.
Step 4. Select a chat in which you have received video
Step 5. Tap the download button on a video
It is located in the lower left and features a downward pointing arrow. The video will then be downloaded to the phone gallery.
