Vaseline is a petroleum derivative that allows you to deeply hydrate and soften dry and brittle eyelashes. It helps them to stretch, thicken and strengthen. It also has moisturizing properties for the skin around the eyes, so it keeps it smooth and supple. A clean mascara brush is the most effective tool for optimal application. Do the treatment before going to bed.
Steps
Part 1 of 2: Clean the Mascara Brush
Step 1. Clean the brush to remove mascara residue
Use a napkin, as a soft cloth can leave lint. Blot the applicator bristles with the paper towel. If the mascara is stubborn, fold the napkin and move the zigzag brush inside. This movement will also allow you to separate the bristles.
Step 2. Clean the pipe cleaner
Now, soak it in the warm water. Leave it to soak for 2-4 minutes, completely dipping the bristles. The water will dissolve the dried residues.
Step 3. Use isopropyl alcohol
After removing the brush from the warm water, there may be traces of mascara between the bristles. Dip them in isopropyl alcohol to remove these residues and sanitize them.
Step 4. Gently blot the pipe cleaner with a napkin to dry it
It must be completely dry before use. If you don't need to use it right away, store it in a plastic bag to keep it clean and protected from bacteria.
Part 2 of 2: Apply Vaseline
Step 1. Remove make-up from eyes and lashes, so the moisturizing properties of petroleum jelly will do their job
Step 2. Prepare the petroleum jelly
Stir the top layer of the petroleum jelly with a clean finger to warm it up and make it easier to apply.
Step 3. Dip the pipe cleaner in petroleum jelly:
use a generous amount. Remember that it will tend to clump on the front of the applicator. If this happens, just spread it evenly over the bristles with a damp napkin.
Step 4. Apply it to your upper lashes just as if you were doing a swipe of mascara
Carefully coat the top and bottom lashes, making sure the product doesn't get into your eyes. If you want, you can sprinkle some on the eyelid for even smoother skin. If you have a sensitive skin, it can cause an allergic reaction, so be sure to try it on the back of your hand before applying.
Step 5. Apply it to your lower lashes
Dip the brush in the petroleum jelly again. Again, try not to get it in the eye while applying.
When you apply petroleum jelly, your lashes become lumpy. In any case, try not to use too much, or it will run on your face and sheets. You should use enough to coat your lashes evenly with a light swipe
Step 6. Leave it on
If you do this treatment every night, the petroleum jelly will soften your lashes, thus preventing them from breaking and falling out prematurely. The softening properties will help extend the growth cycle of each lash, allowing it to thicken and lengthen.
Step 7. Eliminate the petroleum jelly the next morning
Upon awakening, wash your face. If you have trouble getting it off, try a cleaner. Being oil-based, water may not be enough. Then put on your makeup as usual. By constantly using petroleum jelly you will be able to see the first results within three days.
Advice
You can use your fingers, but only if you have washed your hands, otherwise you risk transferring grease and dirt from your hands to your eyes
Warnings
- Petroleum jelly has a greasy and thick consistency, so it can clog pores and cause pimples to appear.
- See if you have any skin reactions. Some people are allergic to petroleum jelly. Test it on your skin by applying some to the back of your hand.
- If petroleum jelly gets into your eye or tear duct, you may experience discomfort, blurred vision, or eye infections.
