Loose powders set the makeup and make it last longer, so it stays fresh until the end of the day. To start, you need to choose a product that guarantees the desired degree of coverage. To obtain a "dew" and natural effect, it is recommended to apply it with a powder brush. If, on the other hand, a Beauty Blender is used, it is possible to obtain total coverage. For a matte finish, it is good to use a powder puff.

Method 1 of 4: Choose the Powder
Step 1. Choose a translucent powder for light coverage
The translucent loose powders set the make-up without giving additional coverage. They are recommended for setting a normal day make-up, as they make it more natural.
Step 2. Choose a flesh-colored face powder to remedy the redness
The free powder products of the same color as the skin allow to correct the inhomogeneities affecting the complexion, not to mention that they illuminate the face and reduce redness. If you need to take pictures or want to get a more professional result, use a colored powder.
Step 3. If you have oily skin, choose a lighter tone powder
When the loose powders mix with the sebum produced by the epidermis, they can oxidize, taking on a slightly darker color. If you have naturally oily skin, choose a loose powder one tone or half a tone lighter than your complexion.
Step 4. If you have dry or combination skin, use a loose powder product suitable for your complexion
For dry or combination skin (i.e. characterized by oily areas alternating with dry areas), we recommend a powder product that is the same color as the complexion. In addition to not oxidizing, it should not undergo color alterations.
Method 2 of 4: Apply Powder with a Brush to Get a Dew Effect
Step 1. Pour the product into the lid of the container
If the applicator is dipped directly into the powder jar, you risk dropping the powder everywhere. Instead, gently shake the bowl to pour some product into the lid and set the package aside. You can add more powder if you need it.
Step 2. Dip the brush in the powder
The kabuki brush, which features a large surface and dense bristles, is the best applicator for loose powder products. The size doesn't matter as much as the type of brush used. Do not press it into the product. Gently dip the tips of the bristles into the powder, covering only the surface of the brush.
Step 3. Tap the brush on the lid
This movement allows you to remove excess product from the top of the brush and distribute the powder on the bristles. You can also hold the brush vertically and hit the end of the handle on a hard surface to help the product penetrate the bristles better.
Step 4. Apply the powder to your face in small circular motions
Make small circular motions to apply the product to the T-zone. Apply it to the forehead first, then work all the way to the bottom of the nose. Continue to apply the powder on your face moving towards the hairline. Once you're done, the result should be smooth and smooth, with no sharp lines.
You may need to dip the brush back into the powder. If the bristles feel stiff on the skin, you will need more product
Step 5. Remove excess powder with a clean brush
Take another brush and use it exclusively to remove the product. When the application is complete, gently pass the clean brush over the face. It will allow you to remove excess powder without removing the foundation.
- A blush or powder brush is recommended to remove excess product. Size is not as important as the type of brush used.
- Are you not sure if you have removed all the excess dust? Take a selfie with the flash. If there is excess product left on the skin, you will see white patches in the photo.
Method 3 of 4: Use a Sponge to Get Full Coverage
Step 1. Moisten the Beauty Blender
It shouldn't be soaked, but it shouldn't be completely dry either. If you have a spray bottle, spray water on the sponge, otherwise you can moisten it quickly under running tap water and then squeeze it.
The water should be at room temperature
Step 2. Dip the sponge in the powder
You should only dip the tip of the Beauty Blender, covering it by about a third. You can add larger quantities of product later if necessary. On the other hand, dipping in excessive amounts of powder from the first moment can cause an unsightly mask effect.
Step 3. Press the sponge under the eyes and onto the rest of the face
Applying the powder under the eyes helps set the concealer. To set the foundation, press the sponge on the T-zone. Finally, pat it gently on the rest of the face.
Step 4. Withdraw larger quantities of product when you deem it necessary
If during the application you get an unsatisfactory result, take larger quantities of product. If you have applied too much, moisten a clean sponge and press it gently on your face - it should help you at least partially remove the dust.
Method 4 of 4: Use a Powder Puff to Achieve a Matte Finish
Step 1. Dip the duvet in the powder
The puff is a fluffy pad found in some packs of compact powders. It is usually the size of the palm of a hand. To use it, take a generous amount of product. Dip the puff in the powder and apply immediately, as it is not necessary to remove excess product.
If you are planning to buy a duvet, look for one that is roughly the size of your palm
Step 2. To begin, apply just a thin layer of powder
At the beginning of the procedure, applying a light application prevents the down from causing smears and streaks. Gently pat it all over your face to apply just a veil, then press it harder after the first layer has been applied.
Step 3. Fold the duvet in half to apply the product to narrow or narrow areas
If you need to apply the powder around the eyes or around the nose, fold the puff in half. Now apply it as usual. The smaller duvets allow you to exercise more control, preventing dust from getting into unwanted places.
Step 4. Run the back of your hand over your cheek to see if you have applied enough powder
Swipe the back of your hand across your face. If the cheek feels smooth and dry to the touch, you have applied the right amount of product. If it feels wet or sticky, apply more powder.
