You want to hide money, alcohol, cigarettes, love letters, etc. to your parents? Tired of being able to find all your stuff? Read Step 1 to learn some crafty tactics that will keep you one step ahead of your parents.
Steps
Method 1 of 2: Hide base
Step 1. Put the items you want to hide in strange places in your room
Put them where no one would think to look.
Step 2. Try to use multiple levels of defense, for example by wrapping the object in paper towels, placing it in an old beauty case, under clothes, behind old scales, in the cabinet under the sink
Make sure you use things that your parents certainly won't use, move, or throw away.
Step 3. Try to hide your things outside the house
Your parents won't find them for sure. And either way, they can't trace it back to you. Make sure you put them in well-hidden places so that no one can find them. The woods are a perfect place. Try hiding a few green bags in a thick, thorny bush, but make sure it's somewhere park guards or meddlers can't see them. In urban areas it is more difficult, but if you search carefully you can find nice places to hide your things: the best places are those that are difficult to reach but not too difficult, so it won't be too complicated to retrieve your things. The alleys are perfect, as they are frequented by few people. Hide your things (in a bag): The trick is to find a place nobody goes to and hide your things so they are not visible.
Step 4. Try making a container for your secret stuff
There are so many weird and exceptional ways to make one. And they are often very simple.
- One idea would be to take off the top of a deodorant spray can, remove the cover of the part where the deodorant is (comes off easily with the help of some basic tools) and then put the top back on (using it as a lid).
- Other simple methods are using an empty opaque bottle or battery compartment in TV remote controls, flashlights, etc. The more complex the method, the harder your stuff will be to find.
Step 5. Always carry items with you that you do not want your parents to touch
This can work perfectly, as your parents are highly unlikely to search you! If what you want to hide is small enough, just leave it in your pocket (but remember not to leave anything in your pockets when taking off your clothes, this is the most important thing). To be even safer, be creative. If you wear the same coat every day, make pockets in the sleeves or collar (you can do this by sewing / gluing / taping a piece of fabric where you want to make the pocket, attaching all but one side). Plus, you can stick your stuff inside the shoes - this works best with pointy shoes, stashing your stuff on the toe where your toes go.
Step 6. Look for cavities in your TV, computer, console, etc
Look for flaps that open and you may have found your clever hiding place. These things are much more common than you think. Make sure they are not used or known by your parents.
Method 2 of 2: Custom Hideouts
Step 1. Buy a safe to prevent your parents from touching your belongings
Then, in the case of a wall safe, put a picture or something else in front of it. This is an easy way to hide your stuff from your parents.
Step 2. Build a hiding book
This is a fun and clever way of hiding things. Just make sure it's a book that fits your purpose and room.
Step 3. You can tape things to the bottom of your dresser or inside to the top of your drawers
Try to hide things inside your pillows or DVD cases.
Advice
- Don't put too many things in one place, if you find out you will lose everything.
- Use all your imagination. Unthinkable places like the inside of a guitar are the last places anyone will think of looking.
- Create hiding places inside hiding places. For example: a book with pages cut off can be a hiding place, and if someone finds it, they are unlikely to look under the cover or along the binding.
- Only hide things in your home if you are willing to take the risk that your parents may find them.
- Avoid obvious places like your wallet, your drawers, your pillowcase, under your bed, and a coat you never wear.
- Make sure your things are never visible, they should always be placed under or inside something that is never moved.
- You can also try putting your things outdoors. The bolder and more confident you look, the less suspicious you will look.
- Make up stories in case your stuff gets caught, like "It's not mine, I'm keeping it for a friend."
- If you have nothing to hide, then you cannot be discovered.
- Ask your friends to look at your stuff.

- Never hide your stuff on the private property of others. It's illegal.
- All the things you hide can always be found.
