Steps
Step 1. Think in which room they might have hidden the object
It will help you get a general idea and a hypothesis on where it is hidden. Check the top shelves, the ones that are less easy to reach and open.
-
Try to think like your parents to find the right place:
- The most obvious place would be their room. Your parents may have hidden the object in their underwear, because you may be embarrassed to rummage in that drawer, or in their closet. Also check in their bathroom if they have a private one.
- Parents sometimes think that in some places, even if within everyone's reach, their children would never go and look. For example, if you don't cook, you would never open the pantry containers.
- The attic is another very common hiding place, but it's harder to search quickly. Only try your hand at searching the attic when you are sure you are alone in the house, but be careful what you do and don't lock yourself in.
- If you are not allowed to get into the car without your parents, perhaps the object was hidden there. Pretend you forgot something and look in the dashboard and trunk.
- If you don't change your sheets and towels yourself, the object could be in the clean linen.
- What are your parents' hobbies? Search through the material of their favorite activities.
- If your parents saw the movie "No Country for Old Men" they might have taken advantage of some hiding places already existing in the house, such as ventilation ducts.
Step 2. Think about the size of the object
A bulky object cannot be hidden everywhere, unlike a small object, for example your favorite DVD.
Step 3. Search your home
When your parents are not there, take advantage of the time you have available to look in the places where you think the object is. Put everything back in order after searching, otherwise your parents will notice.
Step 4. Hide the tracks
Put everything back in its place. If you search the library, do not empty the shelf leaving all the books on the floor. Your parents will immediately understand what you have done.
Step 5. Do not let your parents see that you have read this page
