Steps
Method 1 of 3: Original Recipe
Step 1. Choose the best strawberries
This is a simple and essential preparation aimed at enhancing the taste of strawberries, so it is not advisable to use frozen fruits if you want to get a good result. Choose good ripe strawberries, red and firm, with a nice green stalk.
Step 2. Wash the strawberries
Place them in a colander to rinse them gently under running water. Clean them on all sides, avoiding sudden movements because you risk damaging them.
Step 3. Cut the strawberries
This dessert is traditionally prepared with strawberries cut in half or in four parts. Either way, proceed as you please.
- Start by cutting the stalk using a kitchen knife. Try not to cut too much pulp.
- Cut the strawberries in half lengthwise.
- Cut the halves in half to make four pieces in all.
Step 4. Mix the ingredients
Combine the sugar, vanilla and balsamic vinegar with the milk and cream in a bowl. Use a whisk to completely dissolve the sugar.
- Taste the cream. If you prefer it sweeter, add more sugar.
- If you like to experiment, use another type of sweetener, such as honey or agave nectar.
Step 5. Prepare a layer of strawberries in the glass in which you will serve the dessert
It is best to use half a cup of strawberries for each serving.
Step 6. Pour the cream over the strawberries slowly
Use the same amount for each serving. Serve immediately.
Method 2 of 3: Strawberries with Mascarpone Cream
Step 1. Clean the strawberries
Place them in a colander to rinse them gently. Then, remove the stalk with a kitchen knife. Slice the strawberries in half, then into four parts.
Step 2. Place the strawberries in a bowl and cover them with a spoonful of sugar
Let them rest for about ten minutes, so that they release the juice.
Step 3. Make the mascarpone cream
As the strawberries continue to release juice, make the mascarpone-based mixture.
- Put the mascarpone in a bowl with the yogurt, then add the sugar and vanilla seeds.
- Mix all the ingredients with a whisk to mix them well.
Step 4. Serve the dessert
Put a generous spoonful of mascarpone on the plate. Create a void in the center using a teaspoon. At that point, add some strawberry slices.
- Pour the remaining juice from the strawberries onto the dessert.
- If you prefer, complete the preparation by adding a shortcrust pastry crumble. Now you can serve this delicious dessert!
Method 3 of 3: Strawberries with Orange Cream
Step 1. Clean the strawberries
Place them in a colander to rinse them gently. Then, remove the stalk with a kitchen knife. Slice the strawberries in half lengthwise, then into four parts.
Step 2. Place the strawberry pieces in a large bowl
Add the sugar, orange zest and lemon zest. Mix the ingredients with a spoon so that the strawberries are completely covered in sugar. Cover the bowl and leave it in the refrigerator for half an hour to marinate the strawberries.
Step 3. Squeeze the orange and lemon after collecting the zest
Wash the orange and lemon thoroughly, then dry them. Use the grater or a zester to grate all the zest and leave it in a bowl. At this point, cut the citrus fruits in half and squeeze them for juice.
Step 4. Make the orange cream
Put the cream in a bowl, then add the vanilla seeds, orange and lemon juice. Beat the mixture to whip the cream.
Step 5. Serve the strawberries with the orange cream
Prepare each serving in a cocktail glass or small glass bowl.
- Put a spoonful of orange sorbet in the cocktail glass.
- Add a generous layer of marinated strawberries.
- Complete the preparation with a spoonful of orange cream.
- Top the dessert with a drizzle of grated dark chocolate or chopped walnuts.
