Five-a-side football is at the same time the same and different than football. Ball control is much easier, passes are more important and you score more; also, fitness is more important.
Steps
Step 1. Learn the rules of five-a-side football, which may be different from those of football, such as for throw-ins or the ban on scoring from your own half
Step 2. Learn to carry the ball forward, catch it with your feet and step forward, or just pass it to a teammate when pressed
Step 3. Get in shape
Five-a-side football is much more tiring than football, as there is less space and the plays are faster, leading you to run more.
Step 4. Learn little moves to fool the defense, or the attackers (when playing defense)
Step 5. Know the positions, which vary from traditional football:
there are usually only 5-6 players on the pitch, including the goalkeeper, one of whom is the 'central', a variation of the midfielder in football.
Advice
- Move! Create spaces for you to pass the ball, or intercept a pass and run forward, to make the game faster and more fun, and create more chances for the goal and for you your team.
- Find a friend to join you if it's your first year to learn together.
- Know your team, especially your teammates, how they move and how they play; and learn their names, as calling the passes and taking control of the game will make matches easier for your team.
- Enjoy and relax.
- Play often, or you will forget the minor rules and the most important little details!
Warnings
- Don't be on top of other players, or the game will slow down and your team will take it out on you.
- Wear protective gear. Although slipping is not allowed, it can happen to be hit on the shins sometimes.
- If you play aggressively, try not to fall, as hitting the floor hard hurts.
