Five Nights at Freddy's is an indie survival horror video game released in 2014, which is often cited as one of the most terrifying of the year. In the game, you play the role of a security officer at Freddy Fazbear's Pizza restaurant. You will have to survive 5 nights of work, while the animatronic puppets that populate the restaurant come to life and try to reach you. This article will tell you how to play Five Nights at Freddy's.
Steps
Step 1. Listen to the phone call
The person on the phone is a former security guard at Freddy Fazbear's Pizza who will provide you with useful and important information. For example, he will advise you to check CCTV cameras often and to close doors and turn on the lights only when necessary. It will also give you general information about the restaurant.
Each night the person on the phone will leave you shorter and shorter messages. Use the information he gave you. At the beginning of the fourth night he will leave you the last message
Step 2. Use electricity in moderation
You have a limited energy reserve for each night. Any action you take consumes energy. Keep the lights out and leave the doors open until you are attacked. If you run out of energy, Freddy may be able to catch you. Your shift lasts 6 hours, from midnight to 6.00: remember this when rationing electricity. If you run out of energy, it is possible that the transition between 5 and 6 in the morning will interrupt Freddy's attack, so try to survive until at least 5.
Step 3. Check the cameras with quick and short passes
Click or tap the bar at the bottom of the screen to turn them on. Then click or tap a room on the screen to see what was captured by that room's camera. All puppets at the start are in area 1A. When you don't see one in the room, start checking the other cameras to see how they move. Foxy usually stays in area 1C, called Pirate's Cove. If the curtain is closed in this room or you see Foxy, you are in no danger. If the curtain is open, turn off the camera and quickly close the door on the left.
The only exception is Freddy, who causes the cameras to shut down. Watching him slows him down
Step 4. Learn about puppet behavior
There are five in the game: Bonnie the Rabbit, Chica the Chicken, Foxy the Pirate Fox, Freddy Fazbear and Golden Freddy.
- Chica moves down the west corridor and quickly appears on the door on the right. When you see it in the camera, be prepared to close the door on the right.
- Bonnie follows a random path and appears in the door on the left.
- Foxy is initially in zone 1C and appears on the door on the left. Depending on how often you observe it, it is more or less aggressive.
- Freddy comes from the right following a single path. If you see the cameras go down, Freddy is likely lurking. Watching him slows him down.
- Golden Freddy can be summoned via a poster that appears here and there in the game.
Step 5. Pay attention to the sound clues
It often happens that you can hear the puppets approaching before you see them. Using headphones will make it easier to tell which direction they are coming from. If you hear a noise coming from the left or right, you can close the doors without having to turn on the lights.
Step 6. Be very careful from the third night onwards
Although the game is already difficult in the first two days, the puppets will become more active starting from the third night. You will need a lot more electricity during the third, fourth, fifth and sixth nights.
Step 7. Do your best
If this is your first time playing, get ready. Five Nights at Freddy's is a rather bizarre and truly terrifying game. Get ready to face not only the fifth night but also jumpscare, puppets that move on their own and much more!
- If you can survive the fifth night you will be able to play the sixth and seventh.
- After passing the sixth night you will be able to unlock the seventh, in which you can set the difficulty of the artificial intelligence of the puppets.
Advice
- If you lose, try again. Learning by doing errors.
- You can summon Golden Freddy by switching to camera 2B and staring at the poster, if it depicts Golden Freddy.
- If things get too difficult, try using this pattern: left light, right light, check Freddy, check Foxy, close the doors if necessary.
- Try to close the doors when the puppets are in the corners. If you don't pay enough attention they will come to the door and a jumpscare will go off.
- During the first two or three nights only Freddy, Foxy and Bonnie will try to reach you. But it is usually possible to scare Bonnie by turning on the door light.
- If you only control Pirate's Cove and, sometimes, Show Stage, you will save a lot more energy. While it can be useful to know how close Chica and Bonnie are, keeping an eye on them will cost you a lot more energy.
- Read the Freddy Files. They will give you directions on how to win all five games. In addition, the book contains information on the history of the game and other things that you probably don't know.
- On the last few nights, don't let Foxy run to your door. If you do this he will become much more aggressive, forcing you to check on him more frequently than usual.
Warnings
- If you see the Golden Freddy poster and the puppet appears in your office, don't stare at it for too long or it will kill you. You have about 3 seconds to switch to the monitor view before the game crashes.
- Try not to play too long or too late in the evening, or you may have nightmares.
- When you get Custom Night, don't set it to 1/9/8/7. Golden Freddy will appear immediately and crash the game.
- Don't play if you don't like jumpscare, flashing lights, or loud noises.
