Sometimes a panorama is too big to be able to enclose it in a photograph. How can you capture the majesty you are observing? Use the panning feature of your iPhone's camera!
Steps
Method 1 of 2: iOS 7 and 8
Step 1. Open the 'Camera' application
You can find it on the Home screen of your mobile. You must have an iPhone 4S or higher; iPhone 4 and 3G do not support the panoramic function.
Step 2. Switch to 'Overview' mode
With one finger, scroll the function bar until you find the word "PANO". You can use both the front and rear cameras.
Step 3. Determine the direction
You can take a panoramic photo by moving the phone from right to left and vice versa. By default, the camera will ask you to move right, but you can change the direction by tapping the arrow on the screen.
Step 4. Start taking the photo
Tap the shutter button to start "capturing" the panorama. Slowly move your phone horizontally along the path you see on the screen. Maintain a constant speed, the phone must always remain at the same height.
- You can take all the available space or stop shooting at any time by pressing the shutter button again.
- Move the iPhone very slowly to capture the whole panorama in a single photograph. This way you avoid blurry images.
- Make sure you do not move the phone up or down while you are filming the view. The iPhone automatically aligns the edges, but if the vertical movement is too large it will not be able to correct the errors and the photo will be cropped.
Step 5. Look at the image
Once you have finished the process, the image is added to the 'Camera Roll'. You can share the photo or edit it like any other. Rotate the phone horizontally to see the image in all its width.
Method 2 of 2: iOS 6
Step 1. Open the camera application
Tap the icon on the phone's 'Home' screen. You must have an iPhone 4S or higher; iPhone 4 and 3G do not support panoramic photography.
Step 2. Tap the 'Options' button
Step 3. Select 'Panorama'
This activates the pan function and a scrolling screen will appear in the frame.
Step 4. Determine the direction
You can take a panoramic photo by moving the phone from right to left and vice versa. By default, the camera will ask you to move right, but you can change the direction by tapping the arrow on the screen.
Step 5. Take the picture
Tap the shutter button to start shooting.
Step 6. Shoot the whole panorama
Slowly move the iPhone along the entire subject you want to shoot, making sure that the arrow that appears on the screen always remains close to the center. When you're done, tap the 'Done' button.
- Move as slowly as possible to avoid blurry photos.
- Do not move the phone up or down. This will be of great help during the iPhone's image processing process.
Step 7. Watch the preview
The photograph was saved in the 'Camera Roll' of the phone. Tap the preview button located in the lower right corner of the screen to view it.

Advice
- However, using the 'Pan' function it is possible to change the focus and exposure. All you have to do is touch the area you want to manually work on on the screen.
- Keeping the iPhone at a constant height and carefully following the arrow-shaped indicator are two essential things to get a quality panoramic photo.
