Getting to the hands should always be the last way out. Try to get away from fighting whenever you get the chance. If you or a loved one are not physically assaulted, you can always be a superior. Fighting may seem like a heroic and thrilling act when you imagine it, but actually being in a fight is a terrible experience. If you need to protect your own safety, remember that there are always ways to end the fight and escape quickly.
Steps
Part 1 of 3: Developing the Skills to Defend
Step 1. Join a wrestling team
This discipline is very useful in physical confrontations. This is probably the best way to fight in real life, as it allows you to avoid punches and kicks. In fact, these blows can lead to fractures, injuries, bleeding for you and for the bully who attacked you. If you know how to wrestle on the ground, you can simply approach the attacker, grab him, land him and block him with a grab. Some holds are very painful and annoying for those who suffer them, who will often be forced to give up. This way you will embarrass him without hurting him too much. For all these reasons, learning wrestling is a great idea.
To fight it is necessary to use your body weight well, so this discipline gives you the possibility to beat opponents much bigger than you
Step 2. Learn to maintain balance
Playing basketball can help you win a physical fight. In fact, the position you have to take to mark an opponent is similar to the one you have to hold in a fight.
Step 3. Take a self defense course
There are many and all of them are able to teach you how to defend yourself and get out of dangerous situations. You can even take a short weekend course to learn the simplest moves and strategies.
If you prefer, you can take a course in an offensive martial art, such as karate
Step 4. Train
Being in good physical shape is a great way to prevent fights and will come in handy if you get to grips. You don't need to be full of muscle from head to toe, but focus on building strength and endurance.
Part 2 of 3: Avoiding the Clash
Step 1. Know when to fight
Violence must always be the last choice. If you don't have a chance to win a physical fight, fighting could end up hurting yourself a lot more.
Step 2. Try to make peace
Some bullies see this as a form of weakness, but you need to give it a try. If you have a chance to stop the bully and future misunderstandings, you should take it.
Try saying, "Look, I have nothing against you. I don't know why you are angry with me, but let's put a stone on it. Thanks."
Step 3. Ignore the bully
If you are only attacked in words, do not make the situation escalate. Just walk away silently, as if nothing had happened. Don't show fear and never look the bully in the eye. Act like it doesn't exist. If his actions don't bother you, he'll soon lose interest in bothering you.
When a bully tries to interact with you, keep your expression completely neutral and carry on with your activities normally. This will make him feel very frustrated and put you in a position of power
Step 4. Turn the situation against your attacker
Nobody likes bullies. If you are in a public place and a guy is bothering you, don't be afraid to point out his attitude calmly and decisively. Tell him that picking on other people isn't okay and that you have no idea why he's doing it. If all goes to plan, the people present will agree with you and repeat the same words to the bully.
Part 3 of 3: Winning the Match
Step 1. Assess the situation
Never fight if you have no chance to win. If the bully is accompanied by many friends, do not go to violence. Avoid confrontation at all costs.
Step 2. Find an escape route
Even if you win, you may need to get away quickly. Study your surroundings and decide which way to escape.
Step 3. Hold something in your hand
If you know the bully is stronger than you, try this technique. Put two rolls of pennies in your backpack. When you are attacked by a bully, take them out and hold them in your hands. Your punches will be much more powerful thanks to the weight of the coins. If the situation gets desperate, you can even throw them at the aggressor. Holding something in your hand also helps prevent fractures.
Make sure you don't keep your thumbs inside your other fingers when punching, or you may break them
Step 4. Attack by surprise
Don't wait until you're at a disadvantage. If the bully pushed or insulted you, he probably doesn't have a high guard. If he attacks you often, you have every right to rebel. Hit it with all your strength in a weak spot, then carry on with several more hits. One of the biggest mistakes people make in fights is to punch, then walk away. As soon as the fight begins, you must always remain on the attack, in order to avoid retaliation. This way you will quickly put an end to the unpleasant situation.
Don't hold back. Hitting another person isn't a good feeling. We have a natural tendency to pull the arm back, without completing the fist movement. Unfortunately, you have to use all your strength to win
Step 5. Keep your distance if the bully attacks first
If you are not a wrestling expert, try to avoid fighting on the ground. If he throws quick punches at you, keep dodging them. In a real fight, you can't block shots effectively. Lower your head to escape the punches, or otherwise avoid them.
Step 6. Target the weak points
Try to hit the belly, groin and throat. Don't punch if you can't hurt these areas.
Step 7. Avoid kicking
If you don't know how to use these offensive moves, don't kick them high. You will lose your balance and the other person may grab your leg and knock you down.
Step 8. Be confident and stick to your plan
You will feel the adrenaline flowing through your veins. Your legs will shake and your teeth will chatter. Keep telling yourself that you have to be the aggressor. Don't stop until your victory is certain, then walk away quickly.
Do not assault the other person to the point of seriously injuring them. Just make sure you have ended the fight and are able to get away safely
Advice
- Protect your head and abdomen. These are the parts bullies target most often.
- Protect your face.
- Ask a couple of friends to help you, you need to solve the problem once and for all!
- If you are facing multiple attackers, keep your back against a wall or tree. That way no one can attack you from behind.
- Get ready. The attacker will try to target your weak points. If you are a girl, pull your hair and protect your midsection. If you are a man, hit the weak spots and protect yours. Always wear protective gear if you know it will lead to violence. However, do not incite the bully into a fight or else you will go wrong.
- Put on a jockstrap. Most bullies play dirty, so protecting weak spots is a great idea.
- Fight the bully only as a last resort. Get a friend or two to accompany you in case the attacker has reinforcements.
- Attacking without warning can lead to victory.
