Muslim girls wear hijab, the Muslim veil, to cover their hair in front of men they are not related to. These steps will guide you in your choice.
Steps
Step 1. Check out the different types of hijabs on the internet or in Muslim magazines
Many Muslim women have posted tutorials to explain the different types of hijabs, from the simplest to the most elaborate. You will learn what types of hijabs and other similar products are available on the market, and how to use hijabs that need to be wrapped, folded, wrapped or stapled.
Step 2. Choose your hijab
Go to the shop that sells Muslim clothing and check out their hijab collection. Some simply consist of a single square, oblong or triangular piece of fabric. They are often wrapped and stapled or tied to make them stay in place. Others are tubes of cloth that slip through the head and are made up of one or two pieces. The tube style is generally easier for beginners because the hijab doesn't need to be stapled. Find a hijab that matches the color of your clothes or buy a neutral one. There is nothing wrong with wearing bright colors. Natural fiber hijabs such as silk and cotton are often more comfortable because they allow the skin to breathe.
Step 3. Begin wearing the hijab only when you are ready
If you aren't and don't wear it regularly, you could confuse or offend other Muslims. So if you start wearing it, you have to make a commitment to always do it.
Step 4. Don't feel limited
Don't think that if you wear hijab, people will look down on you. Your friends will remain so. If someone asks you why you chose, tell them you want to become a good Muslim. They will respect you for what you did. If they begin to comment and criticize your decision, you may need to decide whether your relationship with these people can tolerate such a difference, or if you need to keep your distance to avoid further conflict. Also, you have the opportunity to become a good representative of the Muslim community. It shows that Muslims care about their image.
Step 5. Know that you can look pretty in hijab
Wear a brightly colored overcoat, baggy skirts or pants, and structured long jackets. Many Muslim clothing firms offer very nice long dresses for informal and formal wear and office suits. The hijab is not a uniform and there is no reason to be dull.
Step 6. Wear what you like when you're at an all girls party
Freedom reigns on these occasions! Show your identity without hijab. Make sure there are no men in the room!
Step 7. Buy understated clothing that allows you to be active at the same time
If you play team sports, you will need to wear long T-shirts or pants under your team uniform. Choose a hijab for sportswear in a color that matches the uniform or a neutral color, also consulting with the coach. If you don't play team sports, comfortable jogging pants, a long-sleeved T-shirt and a sportswear hijab are ideal for most activities. For swimming, ultra-opaque swimwear is available at some Muslim clothing stores.
