Men who wear a suit badly may be told, "Are you wearing the suit or is he wearing you?" The secret is to buy a dress that is suitable for you and that is to spend the available budget and then have it fixed by a seamstress.
Steps
Method 1 of 2: Adjusting the Dress
Step 1. Make sure when wearing the jacket that the collar of the shirt extends out by 6 mm
When you sit down the jacket moves up and so if the collar is too big this will cover that of the shirt.
Step 2. Measure the sleeves of the jacket so that the shirt comes out 12mm
Step 3. Look at the straps and make sure they are angled slightly downwards
If you have large shoulders you should have smaller shoulder straps.
Step 4. Raise your arms up while wearing the jacket If the jacket gets too high, you will need to have the armholes adjusted
Step 5. Use a mirror to make sure the jacket isn't too short
It should barely cover the pants.
Step 6. Check the pants
They should fit around the waist and not the hips. They must not be too loose or too tight on the crotch.
Step 7. Adjust the width of the pants so that there are no wrinkles
Muscular men may need tailored pants.
Step 8. Make sure there is a small gap between the pants and shoes
Method 2 of 2: Put on the Dress
Step 1. Never button the last button on your jacket
When you sit down, unbutton your jacket to keep it from standing up.
Step 2. Wear the dress with a quality shirt, belt, shoes and watch
Wear socks that match the color of the pants. If you want, wear diamond patterned socks, but only if your dress color and style is not very modern.
Step 3. Tie a knot in your tie and make sure it partially covers the belt
Step 4. Use a tissue
Fold it so that it fits snugly in your pocket and sticks out a bit.
Advice
- Always dry-clean your dress and only if necessary. You may not even wash it for months if you treat it well and know how to iron it.
- Europeans wear tighter clothes if they leave no space between the trousers and the shoe.
