Steps
Part 1 of 2: Understanding the World of Thongs
Step 1. Learn to recognize the different types of thongs
If you are new to this world, you have probably found yourself faced with many types of briefs and names, and you have not the faintest idea what they mean. Let's do some clarity. In general, there are three models of thong: thong, thong string and Brazilian.
- The traditional thong features full coverage on the front and generally a wide band that wraps around the waist area. On the back, it has a cloth cord that measures approximately 2.5 cm (or less) and runs through the perianal area.
- The thong string has a very thin waistband. It is usually elastic and measures 6mm, or is narrower. The cord that crosses the perianal area is also quite fine, so the only real piece of fabric is the front triangle.
- The Brazilian looks like a pair of classic panties combined with a traditional thong. Usually, it features a piece of fabric that covers the top half of your butt, leaving the bottom half uncovered instead (this prevents you from seeing the underwear mark through your pants). The rest of the garment depends on the style, but generally has a thicker waistband and is more opaque.
Step 2. Try to understand how you feel when you wear this garment
Girls who aren't used to it have a lot of reservations. One of these is the alleged inconvenience. Although the idea of having a cord that crosses the perianal area raises many objections, many women who habitually wear the thong agree that the initial discomfort is overcome almost immediately. This garment is often considered one of the most comfortable models in the underwear sector, especially the string one. In fact, the fabric is scarce, so it does not gather on itself, it does not move and it is not uncomfortable.
- But keep in mind that thongs aren't comfortable for everyone, and it might take some getting used to at first.
- If you don't like the feel of the thong at first, don't give up right away. It is a typical experience among those who are not used to and put it on for the first time. It is normal not to like it. After a few days, however, many fall in love with it.
Step 3. Try on thongs of different fabrics
Not all garments are produced in the same way. Just like with classic briefs, there are tons of fabrics, colors and patterns to choose from. When it comes to thongs, it is generally recommended to consider cotton ones, which allow the skin to breathe better. However, lace, silk, and satin are equally popular options. Lace thongs are useful for minimizing love handles sticking out of the elastic, because this material is very flexible and camouflages flaws. Silk and satin thongs are usually used for the finest lingerie, and are ideal for those days when you feel more sensual than usual.
- Thong strings are riskier because they could highlight localized adiposity; in fact, the elastic is so thin that it sinks into the skin.
- If you are wearing a lace thong, keep in mind that the texture of the material may show through your pants or tight skirts, so you would defeat the purpose of this garment (hide underwear).
Step 4. Put on your thong when you don't want your underwear to show
Usually, this piece is worn to avoid seeing the sign of the briefs through pants, dresses or skirts. The problem with classic panties? No matter how thin the material is, most undergarments always show the hemline through tight clothing. A thong remedies the problem, since pants and skirts rarely have a front so tight that they highlight the line. On the back, however, the hem crosses the perianal area without moving from there and nothing is visible.
- If you've never worn a thong before, try starting with the thong or Brazilian. This garment hides the sign of the lingerie without giving you the feeling of having the slip tucked between the buttocks (which some complain about).
- High-waisted thongs do not point out the line of the panties on the hips, so they are useful when you are wearing a tight dress.
Step 5. Make sure the thong is no higher than the waist
Sit down, bend over, crouch and do other similar movements in front of a mirror to test the visibility of the piece. If it pops up often and this is a recurring problem, it would be best to try a different size or style, avoid hipsters, put on a belt, or just cover the area with a long shirt. In any case, it is good to be prepared to intervene to quickly remedy the problem in public. When you sit down, discreetly bring your hand to your lower back and check if the thong comes out. If it is exposed, quickly tuck it into your pants (or skirt) or pull the shirt down to cover the area.
Part 2 of 2: Wear Thong Safely
Step 1. Change your thong daily
Wearing this piece sometimes causes health problems - it can cause bacteria to spread faster than classic underwear, which can lead to infections. Since the thong touches both the anus and the vulva, germs can move much more easily between the two areas, especially when the garment changes position over the course of the day. This is not a deterrent for most women, but if you frequently have candidiasis or other bacterial infections, you need to change your thong more often.
- Choosing a size larger than what you usually wear can improve both comfort and hygiene.
- Cotton thongs prevent the spread of bacteria more effectively than other types of fabrics. If you are afraid of an infection, try this fabric, perhaps organic.
Step 2. Avoid wearing thongs every day
For the same reason that you should change it regularly, you shouldn't wear it daily. Bacteria can easily move to the surface, which means carrying it every day can make you more prone to infections. Try to use it only those days or times when it is useful for you to hide the sign of the lingerie and enhance the outfit. At night, when you work out and when you wear jeans or other heavy garments, the mark is not seen, so wear classic briefs.
Step 3. Don't wear thongs when you are indisposed
Ok, you have decided that the thong is the piece you prefer to wear on a daily basis, but don't rush to throw away all the other panties! When you are sick (for example, you have diarrhea or food poisoning), it is best to leave it alone. It can spread germs and fecal matter (well, it's not the best). In addition, it is more uncomfortable when the private parts are particularly sensitive. You should also avoid it during your period, as blood and leaks can stain the piece and even your pants; use suitable briefs.
None of us enjoy predicting losses and other problems, but remember that a thong won't protect you that much, so before you put it on, consider the pros and cons
Step 4. Prevent the spread of bacteria caused by the thong by using the right toilet paper and towels
It's true: no one likes to talk about their intimate habits. However, if you wear a thong, you can actually increase the chances of bacterial infections by cleaning or drying yourself poorly. Do this by working from front to back. This moves any germs or fecal matter away from the vulva, where infections originate. Some people prefer to use a wet wipe instead of toilet paper, but it is not necessary. What matters is making sure you have good personal hygiene. If you don't clean yourself well and then put on the thong, you will probably feel uncomfortable.
Advice
- Thongs are useful when you are wearing tight clothes or pants, because you don't see the sign of the underwear. Typically, this detail is considered sloppy (except in rare exceptions).
- Do not buy particularly tight thongs, as they could be quite uncomfortable in the perianal and genital area.
Warnings
- Avoid thongs if you are prone to hemorrhoids.
- Thongs can cause inflammation because the drawstring promotes the passage of bacteria. If you tend to get urinary tract or other infections often, leave it alone.
- The prices of thongs vary. If you need to give it a try, buy a cheap cotton one.
