Many women have come to want a different color eyeliner or pencil to use only on one or two occasions. Instead of buying a lot of colored products, you can use an eyeshadow and an eyeliner brush quickly and easily to achieve the same result.
Steps
Step 1. Use an angled eyeliner brush
You can use any brush you like, but with an angled one the application will probably be easier and more effective.
Step 2. Make sure that the brush is clean, to avoid possible transfer of the color used last time
It is best to use a new brush when using it for this purpose. Bacteria could easily get into the eyes, as the brush will come into contact with the surrounding areas
Step 3. Prepare your eyes with a primer or lotion
This will prevent the eyelid from drying out due to the density of the eyeshadow, which is not meant to be used as an eyeliner. You can prevent this by first applying a lotion or primer.
Avoid letting the primer or lotion come into contact with the eyeball. You wouldn't get any harm from it, but it would be quite painful
Step 4. Lightly moisten both sides of the brush with water, without wetting it completely
In fact, a brush that is too wet will make the eyeshadow run making it difficult to apply.
You can try using petroleum jelly. Do not apply too much, the brush should not be soaked but only moistened
Step 5. Tap the brush lightly into the eyeshadow
Make sure that each side is coated with it and wipe off excess to avoid smudging during application.
Try using a dark eyeshadow, it will be more like the color of an eyeliner or pencil. The most suitable shades are brown, black, plum or dark green
Step 6. Close one eye to start applying eyeshadow
Start from the inner corner of the eye and with the brush follow the eyelid towards the outer one. Depending on the shade of the eyeshadow, you may need to apply more.
Keeping the brush as close to the lash line as possible will achieve a precise stroke
Step 7. Release the lid while keeping the eye closed
Let the color dry for a few moments so that it sets before blinking; you will prevent the color from spreading between the folds of the skin.
Try to set the color with a transparent powder, so that it does not run during the day
Advice
- You can use a mixing medium - a colorless wax-based emollient that you can find in perfumery - to make your eyeliner last long and not dry out the eyeshadow.
- Apply a second layer of almost dry color to obtain a more intense or marked line.
- If you want to apply eyeshadow as well, always use the same one on the rest of the eyelid.
Warnings
- Be careful that the eyeshadow doesn't get into the eye.
- This method can dry out your eyeshadow, so dip the brush on only a small corner of the eyeshadow (compact).
- Clean the brush well after each use to avoid the spread of bacteria.
- Use a thin brush. A line of eyeliner that is too thick is not pleasant.
