Naruto is a Japanese series of manga (comics) and anime (cartoons), which has also become famous in Italy and has inspired content in many other formats, such as video games, films and merchandise. The protagonist of the comic and the television series is Naruto Uzumaki, a teenage ninja with a cheerful and heroic personality despite the fact that he has a demon trapped in his body. Learn how to imitate Naruto's behavior by adopting some of his signature traits, famous phrases and habits. Note that this article may contain some minor spoilers for the series.
Steps
Method 1 of 3: Behaving Like Naruto
Step 1. Play jokes
Try playing tricks (not too heavy) on other people, such as phone calls or pranks, in order to imitate Naruto's playful side.
- A good Naruto-style joke is something that surprises the victim. Kakashi defines Naruto as "the best ninja at surprising people".
- Make sure you don't hurt anyone and don't hurt the feelings of the prank victim. Even Naruto matures and stops playing tricks on everyone towards the end of the series, recognizing that it was just a way of seeking attention.
Step 2. Move quickly and do everything in a hurry
Adopt Naruto's hyperactive personality, running all over the place and frantically switching from one activity to another.
- Experience Naruto's signature running style, tilting your head and upper body forward, then placing your arms straight behind you.
- You can also try out some of Naruto's moves. They are best learned from a trained martial arts instructor, just as the Konoha ninja did.
Step 3. Befriend your rivals
Be friendly to everyone and understand that rivals or enemies can become friends if you find something in common with them.
- For example, Naruto's best friend, Sasuke Uchiha, was his childhood rival. Eventually Naruto recognizes similar characteristics to each other, for example the feeling of being alone, and this unites them.
- Befriend people of all kinds. Although Naruto is stubborn and loves jokes, he is also cheerful, kind and tolerant.
Step 4. Make the most of your school and physical activity
Do your best in everything, whether it's school, a hobby, or a sport. Be determined and don't let criticism or your weaknesses stop you from achieving your goals.
- Naruto has difficulty understanding simple concepts and is not a genius at school, but he always strives hard and does not give up on his dreams; you can imitate this quality regardless of your skill level in all activities.
- Inspire others with your commitment and set yourself to achieve goals. Naruto's determination is often an inspiration to others in the comic; for example he taught Konohamaru and Inari not to give up and to be successful.
Step 5. Eat ramen
Try Naruto's favorite food, which he always eats within the comic.
In Italy, you can buy ramen in ready-made packages, which you just need to heat. You can also try this dish in Japanese restaurants, or make it yourself in a more traditional way with lots of vegetables, meats and flavorings
Method 2 of 3: Talk Like Naruto
Step 1. Use the phrase "Dattebayo"
Try the classic line from Naruto, which he says often in the television series.
- "Dattebayo" does not have a precise meaning in Japanese, but is usually considered a way to emphasize a sentence that also communicates a childish and playful character.
- In the early episodes of the English version of the cartoon, the phrase was translated as "Believe it!" (Believe us), so as to approximate the meaning and imitate the movement of the lips.
Step 2. Affirm your determination and successes
Use the phrases Naruto would say to support his beliefs, such as "I will never give up" and "This is my way of the ninja".
You don't have to be untruthful or sound arrogant; these phrases should only underline your determination, hard work and desire to achieve success
Step 3. Remind everyone that you want to become Hokage
He uses another phrase Naruto often repeats, "I want to become Hokage", to express his desire to become the head of his village, Konohagakure (Village of the Leaf).
You can also try another common phrase from Naruto, “Everyone will know me.” This also expresses the desire to become Hokage, because that position will lead him to be respected and admired by his fellow citizens
Method 3 of 3: Dressing Like Naruto
Step 1. Put on an orange outfit
Wear an orange jacket and pants of the same color, preferably with blue or black accents and with a white collar.
- Look for orange jumpsuits at thrift markets or on the internet, for example on eBay.
- Add hints of color with fabric if you are able to sew. Naruto's jacket has blue and white parts at the top and a white and blue band around the right trouser leg in many designs.
- You may also find a Naruto costume at costume shops.
Step 2. Put on the classic Naruto headband
Purchase or make a headband like Naruto's, with the spiral leaf village symbol on a piece of metal.
Uzumaki, Naruto's surname, means "spiral". The symbol that appears on the band and represents the village of the leaf takes up a spiral
Step 3. Color your hair yellow and draw "cat whiskers"
Use a blonde or yellow wig and style your pointed hair like Naruto. Then draw "cat whiskers" on the cheeks.
- Draw the mustache with three diagonal or slightly curved lines on the cheeks.
- Style your hair so that it stays straight with some gel or mousse. Most of the hair or wig should be poking out from under the headband, around the forehead.
