Steps
Method 1 of 3: With Colored Contact Lenses
Step 1. Make an appointment with your eye doctor
It is always a good idea to have a preventative examination before wearing contact lenses, whether they are for aesthetic or corrective use. During the visit, inform your doctor of your needs and expectations.
Step 2. Choose a type of contact lens and the color you want
If your eye doctor has no objection to your wearing contact lenses, it's time to choose the ones you want. You can find them in different colors, shades, translucent or perfectly covering and, thanks to them, you can improve or completely change the color of your eyes.
- Translucent and lightly tinted contact lenses enhance the intensity of your natural color giving it more brilliance. Since they are transparent, they do not completely alter the natural hue of the eyes.
- Colored contact lenses are available in a large variety of shades and colors, including special tones such as amethyst, purple and green. Since they are opaque, they completely cover the natural color, showing only that of the lens.
Step 3. Put on contact lenses as directed
Follow your eye doctor's instructions carefully when fitting and removing lenses from your eyes.
- Always wash your hands before inserting or removing contact lenses.
- Never sleep with lenses in your eyes.
- Do not wear them when bathing or swimming.
Step 4. Do a good maintenance on your contact lenses
Check if the model you procured requires it to be disinfected every day. Failure to properly care and clean could lead to eye infections, so it is important to sanitize and clean your lenses thoroughly as directed by your doctor.
Step 5. Tell your ophthalmologist if you have any problems with your contact lenses
If you experience any complaints or simply have any doubts about the use of contact lenses and want to clarify them, contact the specialist.
Method 2 of 3: With Make-Up
Step 1. Use an eyeshadow that enhances the color of your eyes
Some make-up companies sell eye shadow packs in different shades and shades, to make it easier to choose the right color for your eyes and that can intensify your look. You can also choose complementary colors, so as to make your eyes brighter.
- If you have blue eyes, try terracotta, bronze, copper, yellow or peach eyeshadow.
- For green eyes, try shades of purple, mauve, or pink.
- If they are brown, bronze, gold or earthy shiny shades are more suitable.
Step 2. Apply concealer under the eyes
This way you can cover up dark circles, so you won't have a sleepy look. In addition, a concealer applied under the lower eyelid gives greater brightness to the eye color and improves make-up in general.
Step 3. Put on a navy blue mascara
Instead of going for classic black, try navy blue to make your eyes brighter and brighter. Blue mascara is able to give the eyes a more vibrant look and make the sclera appear whiter.
Step 4. Put on nude or white eyeliner
Apply a single layer of eyeliner of these colors along the inner edge of the lower lid, to immediately give a luminous look to the eyes. White eyeliner makes eyes bright and emphasizes color, while flesh-colored eyeliner makes them shine more naturally, without creating too much contrast.
Step 5. Use a blue or indigo eyeliner
Also this, applied on the upper and / or lower eyelids, is able to make the eyes bright and shiny. Just like black eyeliner and all dark colors, blue and indigo also contrast with the eyes, but in this case they make the sclera appear whiter and the natural color lighter.
Method 3 of 3: With Lifestyle Changes
Step 1. Drink lots of water
It's important to keep yourself hydrated if you want your eyes to look bright and healthy. Sip water throughout the day to stay hydrated.
Step 2. Get plenty of vitamin C
This nutrient is great for the capillaries and blood vessels of the eyes, so taking in adequate amounts can reduce the risk of redness - and for the sclera to take on a yellowish color. Take a multivitamin supplement every day or eat foods rich in ascorbic acid, such as citrus fruits.
Step 3. Avoid junk food
The liver has a harder time processing the fats and sugars contained in these foods, as a result of which the eyes may become red or yellowish. Instead, try to eat more whole grains, fruits, and vegetables.
Step 4. Don't get too much caffeine
Caffeine dehydrates the body and, in a dehydrated body, the eyes suffer from becoming red or dull. Eliminate (or at least limit) your consumption of caffeinated drinks if you want to keep your eyes bright and shiny.
Step 5. Put on your sunglasses
The sun, wind, and dust can irritate the eyes, resulting in redness. It is therefore important to protect them from the elements, if you want them to have a bright and healthy appearance. Furthermore, sunglasses also help protect the skin around the eyes from the sun, reducing the likelihood of forming the classic "crow's feet" wrinkles.
Step 6. Make sure you get adequate sleep
To stay healthy, adults should get 7-9 hours of sleep every night. Adequate sleep not only helps you get through the day, but allows your eyes to look brighter and more vibrant.
