Twitter may suspend your account if you use false information, post spam, pretend to be someone else or engage in abusive behavior. Your account may also be suspended if Twitter suspects it has been hacked or otherwise compromised. How you recover depends on why the account was suspended. This article explains how to recover a profile that has been deactivated by Twitter.
Steps
Method 1 of 2: Reset a Suspended Account for Suspicious Activity
Step 1. Log in to Twitter
You can log in to Twitter at https://twitter.com or by using the app.
Step 2. Click or press Get Started
If Twitter suspects that your account has been compromised, a message will appear informing you that your profile has been blocked. You will need to confirm your phone number, email address or other personal data. Click or tap on Start to begin.
Step 3. Click or press Verify
You will need to provide your personal details to verify the account. Follow the instructions and answer the questions you are asked about your account.
Step 4. Enter your phone number or email address
Enter the phone number or email address associated with your account. You will receive a confirmation code or instructions to follow at the specified number or email address.
Step 5. Check your text messages or email inbox
After entering the phone number or email associated with your account, check your text messages or email to see if you've received a new message from Twitter. The message should contain a verification code that you can use to unlock your account.
If you can't find the email, try looking for it in the "Junk", "Spam", "Promotions" or "Social" folders
Step 6. Enter the verification code
After receiving it via text message or email, enter it in the Twitter application or website.
Step 7. Click or press Submit
Your account will then be unlocked.
Step 8. Change your Twitter password
If your account has been suspended for security reasons, you will need to change your password as soon as it is unlocked.
Method 2 of 2: Restore a Suspended Account for Infringement of the Rules
Step 1. Log in to Twitter
You can log in to Twitter at https://twitter.com or by using the app. If your account has been suspended, a message will appear informing you that the profile has been blocked or that some features have been restricted.
Step 2. Click or press Get Started
This will show the options available to unlock your account (if this is possible). In some cases, Twitter may ask for information such as telephone number or email address. In other cases, the only option it could offer is to continue using it in a limited way.
Step 3. Click or press Continue on Twitter
This will give you limited access to Twitter. Some features, such as tweeting, retweeting, or indicating that you like a tweet, may be suspended. Only your followers will be able to see your past tweets.
If you have the option to verify your account, be sure to click or press on it. If you continue without verifying your account, you won't be able to go back and choose the verification option
Step 4. Remove all banned tweets and retweets
If you have limited access to your account, be sure to delete tweets and retweets that break Twitter's rules.
Step 5. Go to https://help.twitter.com/forms/general?subtopic=suspended using a browser
If you think your account has been suspended by mistake or unfairly, you can use the form on this page to appeal.
You may need to log into your account before filling out the form. In this case, click on Log in in the upper right corner and enter your username and password.
Step 6. Select an issue
Use the drop-down menu next to the question "Where do you find the problem?" to select a reason that best describes the difficulty you are experiencing.
Step 7. Describe the problem
Use the space next to "Problem description" to explain it. Explain why you think you haven't broken Twitter's rules, or explain the difficulties you're having when trying to unblock your account. Try to express yourself as politely as possible.
Step 8. Type your full name
Write your full name next to "Personal name".
Step 9. Verify your username and email address
The email and Twitter username will be generated automatically. Check that they are correct. The address entered is the one Twitter will use to get in touch with you.
Step 10. Enter a phone number (optional)
If desired, you can also enter a telephone number.
Step 11. Submit the form
After completing it, click on the appropriate button to submit it. Twitter will contact you via email once a decision has been made regarding your account. The appeal must be made only once.

- Try to be polite when making your request.
- Remember that these instructions are for accounts that have been suspended in the traditional way. In case of a shadow ban, please note that this problem usually resolves itself within a few hours or days, so it is not necessary to make a formal request.
