Drawing pyramids in 3D can be challenging. But all you will need to succeed in this tutorial are a ruler, a pencil, an eraser, and a willingness to learn.
Steps
Step 1. Decide on the size of the base of your pyramid, for example 5x5cm
Step 2. Then draw a line of the chosen length (in this case 5 cm) at the base of the paper
Point the compass at one end of the line and open it 5 cm. Use it to draw an arc and repeat on the other side.
Step 3. Use the crossing point between the two curved lines as the top vertex of your triangle and draw the two sides
Use your ruler.
Step 4. Erase the guidelines drawn with the compass
Step 5. At this point you will have obtained an equilateral triangle
Step 6. On one side of the triangle, add a straight diagonal line originating from the top vertex, as shown in the image
Then join it at the base.
Step 7. Finished
Advice
- Use points 1 to 5 to learn how to draw a perfect triangle.
- The length of the sides can differ from that of the base, for example the base can be 4 cm long and the sides 7 cm.
- If you want to create a 3D pyramid, remember that a pyramid with a triangular base is made up of 4 triangles, one for the base and three for the sides, while a pyramid with a square base is made up of a square base and 4 triangular sides.
- If you want to reproduce the Pyramids of Giza, do a photo search and add the necessary details to your drawing.
- It is difficult to draw a step pyramid using this method.
