This article shows you how to view Snapchat's "Stories" section. Within this section, users of the social network can publish their snaps, which will be visible to anyone for 24 hours after publication before being automatically deleted.
Steps
Step 1. Launch the button | Snapchat app
It features a yellow icon with a small white ghost inside.
Step 2. Swipe your finger across the screen to the right
Do this while the main screen of the app is displayed, the one where the view taken by the front camera of the device is shown. This will bring up the "Stories" screen, which will list all the stories posted by your friends in the last 24 hours. The list of "Stories" is in chronological order starting with the most recent ones.
Step 3. Tap the name of the person whose story you want to watch
Snapchat will automatically play the next story on the list, then its contents will play in the exact order they were posted.
- The white circular icon, located in the upper right corner of the screen for the story you are watching, indicates the remaining playing time of the current story update. While the gray circular icon, placed inside the white one, shows the total duration of the whole story.
- If the preview of the story next to the profile picture of the person who posted it is gray, it means that it will not be automatically reproduced in order to preserve the traffic of the cellular data connection. If you wish to view it, simply tap on the name of the person it belongs to and the story will download immediately. When the preview of the latter appears in color, tap it again to be able to watch it.
Step 4. Tap the screen to skip playing a snap
While viewing a story, you can stop playing the current snap by simply tapping the screen. In this way the images of the next one will appear. If you were watching the last snap that made up the story, you will automatically be redirected to the "Stories" screen.
Step 5. Swipe left across the screen to skip a story
If you don't want to watch the story posted by a specific person, you can skip it entirely by swiping the screen to the left.
Step 6. Swipe your finger down on the screen to stop playing a story
This will automatically redirect you to the "Stories" screen.
Step 7. Swipe up on the screen to send a message
If one of the snaps you're watching has hit you and you want to reply, you can do so by swiping your finger up the screen to bring up the virtual device keyboard, which you can use to send a message to the person who posted it. After typing the text, press the "Enter" button on your keyboard to send it to its destination.
Step 8. Tap the "Discover" button to be able to watch news stories
It has a circular shape, is characterized by a set of dots and is located in the upper right corner of the "Stories" screen. The "Discover" section collects all the news published by the major news agencies. Tap a story to be able to watch it.
