Facebook isn't a hidden pot of gold coins just waiting to be found, but, with smart work and a smart approach, it can be a reliable source of additional income. Read the steps below to learn how to make money with Facebook.
Steps
Method 1 of 5: The Basics
Step 1. Publish great posts
The foundation of any social media plan is to create a lot of good content. On Facebook, this means posting a steady stream of interesting links, images and updates every day.
- Look for a niche that you can fill with quality content. It doesn't have to be a completely competition-free slice of the market, but it should be quite specific in the eyes of any spectator. You could, for example, post content for cat lovers, for moms, or for people with certain political views. If you want to promote a product through your account, be sure to link to it in your posts.
- Consider opening a second Facebook account, separate from your personal one. Use it to publish posts and create links on your personal account to let people know about them. Depending on the approach you will use, you might even create multiple sub accounts. NOTE: Facebook does not allow you to create multiple accounts linked to the same email and phone number. You may even receive a verification request for a new Facebook account via a code sent by SMS to your mobile.
- Do not rush. Let your account attract more and more interest by continuing to publish interesting and original content every day.
Step 2. Commit if you want to make money
Only by working continuously can you be sure of making money on Facebook. As in any job, planning a schedule and following it is essential.
- Organized. Whatever strategy you decide to choose, you will have to take care of many things every day for it to be successful. Plan in time the priorities and times needed for each activity.
- Saturate the market. To make money on Facebook you need to focus on numbers. Since promoting on the site costs nothing but your time, you can promote yourself as much as you want - even in ways that would cost a lot on other services - and let the percentages and stats do their job, a penny at a time.
- Add people to unscrupulous friends. One of the best ways to get multiple users to view your page is to simply add a friend whenever you get the chance. Most will not accept your request, but there will always be someone who will.
Method 2 of 5: Make Money Through Affiliate Advertising and Other Link Advertising
Step 1. Find an affiliate program or other type of link-based advertising program
These programs usually provide you with promotional materials and a unique ID, and then pay a commission based on the traffic you have generated. So try to find a good website that offers this possibility and start earning.
- Almost all the sites you know offer similar programs. Since the site does not incur any costs, almost anyone can become an affiliate for as many sites as they prefer.
- Start with the best known brands. Amazon offers a competitive affiliate program that pays a percentage for every purchase made by users who clicked on your posts, even if they didn't purchase the item you advertised. Apple's iTunes also has an affiliate program.
- Add smaller programs. While they will likely generate less money, you can gradually diversify and increase your affiliate revenue by offering a broader spectrum of promotional services to many different businesses.
Step 2. Sign up
When you have decided to advertise a company as an affiliate, search and fill out the necessary forms on the company's website. The operation should always be free and take no more than a few minutes.
Never pay to become an affiliate
Step 3. Add your accounts
Create a Facebook account for each affiliate program, or group of programs, to which you have signed up. This allows people to follow pages of interest, instead of having to subscribe to a single page full of different advertisements.
As mentioned above, you can use your main account from time to time to post links to advertisements on your other pages and let your friends know about them
Step 4. Promote your programs
Create posts every day, and publish them until they get annoying. With any luck, and a good starting account with lots of friends or followers, your affiliate accounts will start getting followed too. Anyone who clicks on your posts and buys something from a site you are affiliated with will earn you some money.
Method 3 of 5: Making Money with an E-Book
Step 1. Write an e-book:
publications with the same format as the books, but distributed electronically, and not printed on paper. Since publishing an e-book is practically free, almost anyone can do it.
- Don't put too much pressure on yourself. Unlike a real paper book, your e-book does not have to comply with particular page limits. In fact, almost all e-books written to make money are more like brochures than real books.
- Choose a topic that generates interest. Essays are almost always a better choice than fictional books. Ironically, e-books explaining how to make money by writing e-books are very popular and sell enough to make up for the effort put into writing them.
- Write in an area where you can consider yourself an expert. Your book will gain more value. You don't have to show your credentials, but you should write about a subject you know better than anyone.
Step 2. Choose a publishing mode
There are some free ways to publish your e-book.
- The simplest option is to save the book as a PDF file, and lock it with a password that you will send to the people who purchase your book. When the password is public, anyone in possession of it will be able to access the contents of the book.
- Createspace is a service that allows you to publish e-books for free on the Amazon website. It offers better protection than the PDF method, but you won't be able to distribute it directly to sites other than Amazon's. Createspace also offers many paid options and services. To maximize your profits on Facebook, don't use them.
- ReaderWorks is a program that allows you to format and publish e-books in Microsoft Reader format, one of the most popular on the web. The basic version of the program does not offer any security, but it is free and easy to learn. There is a paid version that adds Digital Rights Management (DRM) protection. Choose the paid version only if you plan to publish a lot of books.
Step 3. Publish your e-book on the internet
Createspace will automatically publish your book. If you uploaded it from your computer, you can sell it in a few ways:
-
Amazon allows you to upload and sell your e-books for free as books for Kindle (the digital device for reading books made by Amazon). This option is called Kindle Direct Publishing, or KDP.
- The positives of this solution are speed and flexibility. You can publish your books in about 5 minutes, and set sales royalties up to 70% (the remaining 30% is retained by Amazon).
- The downside is that this solution doesn't allow you to publish your books outside of the Kindle market. Readers who are not using that device will not be able to find and purchase your book.
-
eBay allows you to sell any item at your chosen price. By offering "copies" of your e-book on eBay, you can turn the well-known online auction house into a bookstore.
- The advantage of eBay is its simplicity. Anyone with access to the site can purchase a copy of your book - no specific programs or devices are required.
- The downside to eBay is its cost. The site will ask you to pay for practically everything; the costs will be even higher if you choose the auction in "Buy it now" mode. Some of the charges are percentages, but others are fixed, and can really minimize your profit margins if you're not careful.
Step 4. Sell your e-book via Facebook
If you've been shrewd and have written a book that may be of interest to the audience following your main account, you have an audience ready to listen to your suggestion.
- Advertise the book several times a day, explicitly and at the end of the other posts. Be creative and try to engage readers. Make sure they can't wait to get their eyes on your book.
- If you have other accounts (such as affiliate ones), advertise your book on those as well.
- Always post a link that users can follow to visit the book purchase page.
Method 4 of 5: Making Money with Facebook Pages
Step 1. Create a Fan Page, if you haven't already
Create a page that covers a topic that interests you, such as fishing, funny videos, travel, etc.
Step 2. Write quality content
Write good content and engage as many users as possible. When your page starts attracting many users and receiving a good number of "likes", you can continue.
Step 3. Create a website linked to your page
If you can afford it, create a professional site that is related to the topic of your Fan page.
- You can also create websites for free.
- Add content to the website and post the link to its page on Facebook to attract traffic.
- Add ads to monetize and make sure your site looks professional and doesn't contain material copied from other sources.
- You should continue to post quality content on your website to increase the number of visitors.
Step 4. Sell posts on your Fan Page
When you have a very followed Fan Page on Facebook, you can sell posts on your Page to make money the easy way.
- Sign up to Shopsomething.com and make sure you have at least 1000 likes on your page.
- Add your Fan page on ShopSomething and confirm that you own it.
- Choose a price for the posts on your page. This step is very important, so make sure you choose the right price. If you ask for an out-of-market amount, no one will buy your advertising space.
Method 5 of 5: Make Money Using the Facebook Post Marketplace
Step 1. Become a Facebook Posts Market or Facebook Fanpages Market author and earn money by selling Fan Posts and Pages
You will find the installation guide included in both scripts (step by step). If you are new to the PHP and HTML languages, you can ask someone to install the scripts for you, and then you can administer them without any programming knowledge.
- Facebook Posts Market
- Facebook Fanpages Market
-
Both products in one bundle, Facebook Posts and Fanpages Market, with a saving of $ 15 (about € 13)
Advice
- There is a huge demand for social media marketing. If you are an expert on these platforms, it is really easy to make money.
- Keep a maintenance log. Always read all the clauses! Many affiliate programs or other earnings-per-click services impose minimum login requirements or periodic email checks to eliminate inactive accounts. If you don't keep your account you could lose a lot of profits.
- E-books aren't the only thing you can sell to your fans - they're just one of many possibilities. Be creative and think what else you might be able to do with little or no cost that you could advertise to your readers.
- There is no substitute for hard work. If you take the time to nurture and maintain your own reading audience, the rest will come by itself; on the other hand, if you think you just need to make a bunch of affiliate pages and sit and wait for the money to rain from the sky, you will never be successful.
- Your priority must be to serve those who follow you or who read you. If you have an audience, you will almost always find advertisers. Don't focus on making money, but on building your audience base.
