This wikiHow teaches you how to take a screenshot and paste it into a document, message, or post using a computer, smartphone, or tablet.
Steps
Method 1 of 4: Windows 10
Step 1. Click on the notification center icon
It features a square balloon and is located in the lower right corner of the desktop. If there are any notifications, you will see the corresponding number appear at the bottom right of the icon.
Step 2. Click the Screen Capture icon
It is visible in the lower right corner of the panel that appeared. If the option indicated is not present, first click on the "Expand" link to make all the quick settings visible in the notification panel. A bar with three icons and an "X" at the end will appear at the top of the screen.

Step 3. Click on the third icon from the left to take a screenshot of the entire screen
This is the icon that displays the "Capture Full Screen" description when you hover the mouse cursor over it. This takes a snapshot of everything that is displayed on the computer screen. The image is temporarily copied to the system clipboard.
- If you need to simply capture a rectangular portion of the screen, click on the first icon to the left of the toolbar (this is the icon that shows the description "Rectangular Capture" when you hover the mouse cursor over it), then drag the cursor mouse over the area of the screen you want to include in the screenshot.
- If you prefer to delimit the freehand screenshot area, click on the "Capture Freehand Figure" icon (this is the second icon from the left), then use the mouse to draw the selection area on the screen.
Step 4. Open the file you want to use the screenshot in
Remember that you can paste a screenshot into a Word document, an image using Paint or Photoshop, or into an email, text message, or post.
Step 5. Press the key combination Ctrl + V to paste the screenshot in the desired place
The image you scanned earlier will be inserted into the indicated document or message.
Method 2 of 4: Mac
Step 1. Press the key combination ⌘ Command + ⇧ Shift + 4
The screenshot capture tool will appear.
Step 2. Hold down the Control key while selecting the screenshot area
Drag the mouse cursor to select the portion of the screen to include in the screenshot. After drawing the selection area, release the Control key and lift your finger from the mouse button. The screenshot will be temporarily stored in the system clipboard.
Step 3. Open the file where you want to paste the screenshot
You can insert it into a Word or Pages document, into an image using an app like Photoshop or GIMP, into an email, or into a post or text message.
Step 4. Press the key combination ⌘ Command + V to paste the screenshot to the desired location
The image you scanned earlier will be inserted into the indicated document or message.
Step 5. Click on the screenshot with the right mouse button, then choose the "Copy" option
If after pasting the screenshot you need to use it elsewhere, click on the corresponding image with the right mouse button, choose the "Copy" option, then paste it where you want (in a document, an e-mail or an image editor).
If you want to keep the original screenshot without modifying it, choose the "Duplicate" option from the context menu that will appear after clicking the right mouse button
Method 3 of 4: iPhone and iPad
Step 1. Press the Power and Home buttons on your device at the same time to take a screenshot
If you are using a model without a Home button, you will need to press the Power and Volume + keys. This will take the screenshot and show a small preview in the lower left corner of the screen.
Step 2. Tap the screenshot preview image to view it in full screen
If the preview icon has already disappeared, read on.
Step 3. Trim the screenshot according to your need, then hit the Finish button
This is an optional step, but if you want to resize the screenshot by eliminating the unnecessary parts, use the blue bars to change the selection area that appears on the screen so that only the area of the image you want to keep is included within it., then press the key end. The screenshot image will be saved on your device.
Step 4. Launch the Photos app
It features a multicolored icon depicting a stylized flower. You can usually find it on the Home.
Step 5. Tap the screenshot you want to open
It should be listed at the bottom of the list.

Step 7. Choose the Copy option

Method 4 of 4: Android devices
Step 1. To take a screenshot, use the Power and Volume - keys at the same time
Normally it is necessary to hold down the indicated keys for a few seconds until the screen flashes. However, when using some smartphone and tablet models, it may be necessary to use a different key combination (for example the Power and Home keys).
Step 2. Launch the Photos app
