This article explains how to convert a PDF file to a SolidWorks document using this software on a computer running Windows. SolidWorks is a three-dimensional design and design program mostly used by engineers and architects. You can convert a PDF file to have a. SLDASM or. SLDPRT extension, but you usually need to make changes to the drawing within the software to make sure it is accurate.
Steps
Step 1. Open SolidWorks
The icon for this program is red and features a cube with a white "S" and "W".
Log in and download SolidWorks if you haven't already
Step 2. Click on File in the upper left corner of the menu bar
Step 3. Click Open
This option is located at the top of the drop-down menu.
Step 4. Double click on the PDF file
This will open in a new SolidWorks window.
Step 5. Click Save
This option is located in the upper left corner of the SolidWorks toolbar.
Step 6. Name the SolidWorks file
Type the name of the PDF file you are about to convert to SolidWorks in the appropriate field.
Step 7. Click on the drop-down menu
under the file name.
Click on the black triangle to open the drop-down menu and choose a file format.
Step 8. Select the ". SLDASM" or ". SLDPRT" extension
Both extensions are compatible with SolidWorks.
Step 9. Click Save
