This article explains how to see chats stored on WhatsApp on an iPhone or Android device.
Steps
Method 1 of 2: iPhone
Step 1. Open WhatsApp
The icon looks like a green speech bubble containing a white handset.
Step 2. Press the Chat button
The icon looks like two speech bubbles and is located at the bottom of the screen.
If a specific conversation opens, tap the arrow at the top left of the screen
Step 3. Slide your finger to the center of the screen
At the top of the screen, the following text will appear in blue: "Archived chats".
If all conversations have been archived, you will see "Archived Chats" at the bottom of the screen without having to swipe down
Step 4. Select Archived Chats
A list of saved conversations will appear.
If nothing appears, it means you haven't archived any chats
Step 5. Select a conversation
Your chosen conversation will open and you can view it.
You can swipe from right to left on an archived chat to return it to the inbox
Method 2 of 2: Android
Step 1. Open WhatsApp
The icon looks like a green speech bubble containing a white handset.
Step 2. Press the Chat button
This window is located at the top of the screen.
If a conversation opens up, first tap the arrow in the top left to go back
Step 3. Scroll to the bottom of the message list
"Archived Conversations (number)" should appear.
If you don't see this option, you haven't archived any chats
Step 4. Click on Archived Conversations
This is how you will be able to view archived conversations.
Step 5. Select the chat you want to see
That way, the conversation will appear and you can find messages that interest you.
