This wikiHow teaches you how to change the Google Maps voice on an iPhone or iPad. Although it is not possible to change it within the app, you can update the language settings on your mobile or tablet.
Steps
Step 1. Uninstall Google Maps
The only way to update the Google Maps entry is to change the language and / or region of the iPhone or iPad. Google Maps must be installed after changing the language, otherwise the entry will not be changed. Here's how to uninstall Google Maps:
- Touch and hold the Google Maps icon on the home screen. It is represented by a map with a red pin and a white "G" inside. The icons on the screen will start vibrating;
- Tap the "x" on Google Maps;
- Tap "Delete";
- Press the "Home" button to exit this mode.
Step 2. Open the "Settings" of the device
This application is usually found on the home screen.
Step 3. Scroll down and tap General
Step 4. Tap Language & Region at the top of the screen
Step 5. Tap Language [device]

Step 6. Select a language or variant
Many languages, including English and Spanish, have different variations.
- For example, if your iPhone is configured in "English (Canada)", but you want to hear a voice speaking English with an Indian accent, select "English (India)".
- To search for a language or region, type in the search bar at the top of the screen.
Step 7. Tap Done in the top right corner
A confirmation message will appear.
Step 8. Tap Edit In
The device will be updated in the specified language and variant.
If prompted to set up Siri, tap "Continue", then "Set up Siri later in settings"
Step 9. Open the App Store
Once the language has been updated, you will be able to install Google Maps again.
Step 10. Tap Search in the lower right corner

Step 12. Tap Google Maps - Navigation & Transportation
Step 13. Tap the cloud icon
