Corona is a pale lager beer produced by Cerveceria Modelo in Mexico. It is one of the best-selling beers in the world and is available in 150 countries. Many places serve it with the classic lemon or lime wedge stuck in the opening of the bottle. However, there are many ways to prepare and enjoy it. You can drink it straight or mix it with other ingredients to enhance its natural flavor.
Steps
Method 1 of 2: Drink a Traditional Crown
Step 1. Cool the beer
You can put it in the freezer, fridge or cooler. Depending on the method used and the initial temperature, it may take 30 minutes or a few hours; then make your choice accordingly, taking into consideration when you want to drink the first beer.
- Be careful not to leave the beer unattended in the freezer for more than 30 minutes, as it could explode.
- The quickest way to cool it is to place the bottle in a cooler filled with water and ice (the heat from the beer dissipates faster). If you want to do this, leave the ice in the container for an hour or more. When it starts to melt slightly, add the bottles of Corona.
Step 2. Open it and flavor it with salt and lime
Remove the cap with a bottle opener because all Corona have a capsule cap that does not unscrew. Sprinkle the edge of the bottle opening with sea salt or a salt-based dressing of your taste. Place a wedge of lime over the opening and squeeze it to drop the juice into the beer. Finally, push the lime wedge into the bottle to flavor the drink even more.
If you want to mix the ingredients better, place your thumb on the opening and slowly turn the bottle upside down a couple of times. Be careful, because if you turn the bottle too fast, the beer releases carbon dioxide and the container could explode
Step 3. Sip and enjoy the Corona
But remember to drink responsibly.
Method 2 of 2: Drink a Blended Corona
Step 1. Cool the beer
Follow the instructions in the first step of the previous section for reference. It is essential that the beer is cold for each mixed preparation.
Step 2. Make your own drink
Add any or all of the following ingredients to a blender or empty bowl into which you've poured half a bottle of Corona: lemon, Tabasco sauce, spicy tomato juice, salt and / or pepper. These ingredients are the most used to flavor beer, in addition to the classic salt and lime, and they can really improve the taste of the drink giving you a pleasant experience.
- If you prefer to add just one or two ingredients, then you can simplify the process and pour them directly into the bottle without using the mixer.
- Make sure the various combinations are to your taste. You can prepare several "samples" in a shot glass for tasting.
- Add a few ice cubes to the mixer or cup if the Corona has warmed up during preparation.
Step 3. Make a Red Corona
Pour 45ml vodka, 5ml grenadine syrup and a wedge of lime into a 7/8 full bottle of Corona.
- Remember to put a thumb on the opening of the bottle and slowly turn it upside down a couple of times to mix the ingredients. Move slowly to avoid releasing carbon dioxide and thus avoid potential explosions.
- Try combining the ingredients in a cup or mixer if you have trouble pouring them directly into the bottle.
Step 4. Make a Mexican Bulldog Margarita
Pour 30ml tequila, 210-300ml Margarita mix and 8-10 ice cubes into a blender. Operate the appliance until the mixture is homogeneous. Transfer it into a large glass (at least 480 ml) and put a bottle of Corona upside down inside.
Make sure the glass opening is wide enough to support the Corona bottle without it tipping over. If you only have small glasses, then you should use a bottle of Coronita (210ml)
Step 5. Enjoy the blended beer
Regardless of how you made the drink, it will certainly be delicious, because the main ingredient is a Corona beer. Don't forget the lime and salt toppings if you haven't already prepared them.
Advice
- When you drink a Corona, make sure it is very cold. Hot beer can cause nausea, indigestion, and doesn't allow you to fully appreciate the flavor.
- To keep the beer cold while you drink it, buy a cooler to store the bottle in. These containers are capable of retaining cold for a longer period of time.
- Corona Extra is better than Corona Light.
- All the recipes described in this article refer to bottled Corona, but you can also use canned one if you have it. However, bottled one is easier to mix.
Warnings
- When chilling beer in the freezer, do not leave it unattended for more than 30 minutes; if it exploded you would have a lot to clean!
- Corona beer is an alcoholic beverage, so enjoy it in moderation and responsibly.
