Method 2 of 2: Avocado Moisturizing Mask
Step 1. Get the ingredients
You will need the white of one egg, one avocado, one tablespoon of olive oil and one tablespoon of honey. The quantities can be changed according to the length of the hair.
Step 2. Mix the ingredients
Using a mixer or blender, mix until smooth and creamy. If you don't have an electric blender you can mash the ingredients by hand, but it will take longer.
Step 3. Apply the cream to your hair
Pick it up with your fingertips and spread it over all lengths, focusing especially on the tips. When you are done with the application you can wrap your hair in a towel or wear a cap to avoid staining your clothes.
Step 4. Leave on
Wait 20-30 minutes or longer if you like before rinsing off.
Step 5. Rinse the mask
Remove the cap and wash your head with warm water. You can use a shampoo if you need it but try to avoid it as this product will dry your hair again. When you're done wrap them in a towel.
Step 6. Repeat the process
You can apply this mask once or twice a week for best results. Or use it whenever it feels dry, frizzy, or damaged to the touch.
Advice
- You can also do restorative treatments (perfect for repairing damaged hair) or hot oil treatments.
- Moisturizing treatments are especially useful for those with wavy or curly hair as they often tend to be dry and stringy.
- You can do a mini-treatment when you are in the shower. Mix some honey into your conditioner and distribute all over your hair. Do not rinse off the conditioner until you have finished washing the rest of your body (5 to 10 minutes).
Warnings
- When doing your at-home moisturizer make sure you mix and grind all the ingredients thoroughly before spreading them on your hair. You certainly don't want to waste too much time trying to rinse everything!
- Don't do them too often or you risk hydrating your hair too much. In this case they would appear too flat, soft and difficult to shape.
