Sims are great, but more identical sims are even better. Twin and triplet parties in The Sims are rare, but they can add a new element of strategy and fun to The Sims 3. If you want to try this gameplay experience, follow this guide and learn how to maximize your chances.
Steps
Step 1. Get Fertility Treatment for both parents
This is a Lifetime Reward that you can purchase for 10,000 Happiness points. You earn Happiness points when your sims are in a good mood, and you can earn significant bonuses by fulfilling your sims' Wishes and completing their Dream in Life.
- Click on the triangular button "Sim panel".
- Click on the Lifetime Happiness Chest button.
- Click on the Lifetime Rewards button.
- Scroll down to find Fertility Treatment. This reward costs 10,000 points.
- For maximum effectiveness, both parents should have this reward.
Step 2. Get your sim pregnant
To have twins or triplets, your sim will have to get pregnant. To do this, two opposite-sex sims will need to have a high-level romantic relationship. The relationship bar will need to be nearly full for pregnancy to be possible.
- When the sims are intimate, you will find the "Try to have a baby" option in the Love menu. You will have to use this option, because pregnancies are very rare otherwise. If you hear the sound of a music box playing a lullaby when your sims are done, the woman is pregnant, even though the sound doesn't always play.
- If the sims are unable to have a baby, the relationship bar will decrease slightly.
Step 3. Have the mother do child-related activities
When your Sim is pregnant, they should always watch Kidz Zone on TV, listen to Baby Music on the radio, and read pregnancy books. You will have to wait several play days before birth, and the mother should perform these actions as much as possible.
Try to keep the mother happy during her pregnancy to have some control over the traits of the unborn baby
Step 4. Choose your gender (optional)
Choose if you want a boy or a girl. If you want a boy, eat three or more apples consecutively in the first two days of pregnancy. If you want a baby girl, eat three or more melons consecutively in the first two days of pregnancy.
Step 5. Deliver the babies
When the babies are born, you will need to take care of them. Make sure you have some money aside, as raising twins is a lot more expensive than having a single child.
Advice
- Make sure you check that you can add more people to your home, or you won't be able to get your sim pregnant.
- Make sure you read a pregnancy book when your sim is pregnant. If there is no such book in your home, remember that there is a bookstore and a book store. If you read this book you will be able to choose two traits at the time of your baby's birth!
- Your Sim will have the "Back Pain" mood when pregnant. A massage received in a spa or from someone who is in a romantic relationship with her should cure him for some time.
