Glitches are nothing more than programming errors in a computer game or other system that cause strange game behavior. For example, an enemy might run away instead of attacking you or become helpless against you. Generally, these glitches cause boredom to gamers, other times, however, they will help you complete the game, or simply give you some fun and therefore, you could go and find them yourself for fun. Method 1 of 3: Identify Glitches
Step 1. Notice strange things that shouldn't be in the game
For example, character traits or settings may change unnecessarily when you least expect it. Or else, gravity seems to no longer exist in the game or the items in your inventory behave strangely. To figure out if these behaviors are caused by a glitch or are actually part of the game itself:
- Read the story of the game. If this is detailed enough, you may be able to understand what is and is not normal within the game.
- Ask a friend who has already completed the game if he has also encountered the same problems.
- Search an online forum about the game and see if anyone else has had the same experience as you. Otherwise, if you believe this glitch is well known, do a Google search.
Step 2. Learn more about the problems of the game
Check out specific sites, forums, discussion pages or other sources of information about the game. There may already be discussions about a specific glitch on these forums.
- Often, you will be able to find video guides about the glitches of very popular games.
- Always check the date of posts in forum discussions. Although some glitches may remain "active" for some time, generally, in live games, they do not last more than a few months, because programmers will try to remedy them.
- Likewise, be well informed about what you risk by exploiting a glitch - some glitches can ruin the game or cause you to lose the items you have acquired.
- There are specially created sites where you can look for glitches for almost any type of game. Some of these sites include some fun glitches to have a laugh with but nothing more.
Step 3. Be careful not to abuse glitches in online play
Glitching is not very popular with online players and is considered a form of cheating, as a kind of modifying one's game to gain advantage over others. Read your game's terms and conditions to make sure you are allowed to use these glitches online. You'd be better off reporting glitches than using them.
Method 2 of 3: Zone-Glitch and Typical Actions
Typically, glitches are always found in the same areas. If you're on the hunt for glitches, you'll find some tips below.
Step 1. Climb a ladder
If there is a ladder in the game that you can climb, climb to the top. Often the programming errors are found at this point in the game, and you could end up in an interesting object or map.
Step 2. Try to go through the walls
In some games, when you perform a certain action, the walls involuntarily become transparent. These actions can be moving objects, interacting with other players or using special actions such as teleporting or decorating the level. There may be cracks or seams in the wall that create weak spots for the character to pass through.
If you notice that the weapon, tool or object held by the character passes through the walls, try to pass it too, in fact, this could be the signal that there is a glitch in the code of the wall that you allows you to cross it or even go to the next level
Step 3. Take a look at the large elements
Rocks and other large scenery elements are often the best places to find glitches. Sometimes video game developers, out of laziness, do not insert virtual barriers between the character and the object.
- If you are trying to find a glitch in a rock, try to go through one of the less visible corners. The most angular corner, different from the others, could be the point that contains the glitch.
- If you are inexperienced, do not immediately try to look for the most difficult glitches such as those that make you go to another map. Try reaching ceilings or going through walls first, and then move on to the more advanced glitches.
Step 4. If you find an invisible barrier, try to find a place to cross it
These barriers, once cleared, typically lead to other maps or places in the game that the developers didn't want you to get to.
Step 5. Take a look at the point you want to reach and ask yourself if there is a way to get there
Take into account all the possibilities of the character and the objects available such as vines, barrels or even jumping kangaroos! Anyway, try it, bad that goes … you will not get there.

Step 6. Play "fair"
Most video game tests are done based on the "correct" way to play, following a sequence of actions and expecting certain results. You, on the other hand, have the option of playing the other way around, trying to uncover programming errors.

Step 7. Try pausing
If you pause during game highlights, it could change something in the game code. Give it a try. This technique is mostly used for older games.
Method 3 of 3: Recover the glitch
So you've decided that the glitch you found is actually useful and intend to use it again.
Step 1. Try again
Go back to the exact spot where you first encountered the glitch. You may need to retry several times before getting the desired result again; in fact, it may be difficult to identify the exact cause of the glitch.
Keep trying. Just because you don't succeed the first time doesn't mean you won't succeed at all
Step 2. Use some of the places suggested in the section above
In the game, go to areas where most glitches are typically found, such as rocks and large objects.
Step 3. Be careful while playing
There is no need to search for glitches specifically, play normally and pay attention to the strange behavior of the game.
Some glitches are just random errors you may encounter while playing the game. Depending on the game, they may only be present in one mode
Advice
- Most of the objects are part of the scenario. For example, if you try to jump on a building's tent, you will most likely walk through it.
- Try to push another game object to that spot and then pass it with the character. Otherwise, use these items to climb.
- If an obstacle seems unreachable, try climbing over other objects and then jumping over it rather than trying to get through it.
- When trying to jump higher than normal, use special jumps. If you jump quickly from point to point, slow down and let the character cool down after each jump and see if you notice any improvements.
- The Nintendo Wii never gets updates, so if you're looking for glitches that don't go away with updates, play the Wii. That said, most of the ladders in Wii games are part of the scenario and therefore cannot be used.
- Learn to jump accurately. Landing on the target is an important skill in looking for glitches. Repeated jumps (rabbit jump) sometimes create glitches in the game themselves.
Warnings
- After exploiting a glitch, the game may stop loading normally. Or, objects may disappear or it may no longer be possible to perform certain actions, which were available before you exploited the glitch. Before giving up, try the reset button. Be careful not to do any damage.
- Most players don't like anyone who uses glitches to their advantage, so be prepared for complaints. For online multiplayer games, you may be reported to the staff. On XBL and PSN, exploiting glitches is against the rules and you could be banned.
- For online video games, most glitches aren't fixed for a couple of months. However, that doesn't mean you should get used to using them. Updating patches and updates for your game will most likely remove the glitch.
- Glitching (exploiting glitches) is not the same as "hacking". Either way, using a glitch to your advantage could help you get items and points that you would be unlikely to get by playing by the rules. This is most likely a violation of the rules of your favorite online game, and, therefore, you could be banned from the server.
