Hearthfire is an expansion for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim that allows players to adopt orphaned children and build houses, structures and other furniture from scratch. To start the expansion, it is necessary to speak to the Jarls of Morthal, Dawnstar and Falkreath, in order to complete their missions.
Steps
Step 1. Launch the Hearthfire expansion
A messenger will hand you a letter, informing you of the possibility of purchasing a plot of land.
Step 2. Go to the Jarl room of Dawnstar, Falkreath or Morthal
In these towns you will find Jarls offering property.
Step 3. Talk to the Jarl
The lord will ask you to complete a mission before giving you the option to purchase the land.
Step 4. Complete the mission assigned by the Jarl
The tasks are different according to the city. For example, the Lord of Falkreath will ask you to take out the leader of the bandits in the Bilegulch Mine.
Step 5. Return to the Jarl after completing the mission
The lord will appoint you Thane, giving you the right to purchase land under his jurisdiction.
Step 6. Ask the Jarl about the land for sale
He will ask you to speak to his assistant to complete the purchase.
Step 7. Tell the assistant that you want to buy a house
The cost is 5,000 gold.
Step 8. Confirm your purchase
The assistant will give you the title deed.
Step 9. Use the map to get to the land you just bought
Upon your arrival, you will find tools and instructions. You can now build a house and adopt children thanks to the Hearthfire expansion.
