If you share your computer with other people, you probably find it essential to protect your privacy on the internet. Google Chrome's Incognito mode does not save history and download activities. Although it is easy to activate it, it sometimes happens that you forget about it, thus compromising your privacy. There is a very simple method to open Google Chrome directly in this mode.
Steps
Step 1. Attach Google Chrome to the taskbar
Click on the Start button (
or
). With the right mouse button, click on "Google Chrome" from the application list and on Pin to taskbar.
Step 2. Open the Chrome properties shortcut in the taskbar
With the right mouse button, click on the Google Chrome icon in the system tray. A menu will appear showing your bookmarks, most visited sites and so on. Right-click on Google Chrome and select Properties.
Step 3. Add -incognito to the target shortcut
Once the window is open, you will see a text box next to "Destination:". Contains a file path in quotation marks. Add -incognito at the end, outside the quotes, leaving a space just before writing it.
- Example: "C: / Program Files (x86) Google / Chrome / Application / chrome.exe" -incognito.
- You can restore the previous settings by removing -incognito from the Destination text box and saving the configuration.
Step 4. Save your changes
Click the OK button at the bottom of the window. A confirmation box may appear. Select Continue and type your password if necessary.
