This article explains how to get incoming calls to go directly to voicemail on a Samsung Galaxy.
Steps
Method 1 of 4: Using "Airplane Mode"
Step 1. Swipe down from the top of the home screen
The notification panel will open.
Step 2. Tap the gray airplane icon
It is located at the top of the screen. A confirmation message will appear.
Step 3. Tap Ok
The airplane icon will turn blue. This means that airplane mode will have been activated, so you won't be able to make or receive phone calls or use mobile data. Incoming calls will be routed directly to voicemail.
To turn off airplane mode, open the notification panel and tap the airplane icon again
Method 2 of 4: Using the "Call Forwarding" feature
Step 1. Open the "Phone" app
The icon looks like a telephone handset and is usually found on the home screen.
Step 2. Tap ⁝
It is located in the upper right corner of the screen.
Step 3. Tap Settings
Step 4. Tap More Settings
This option is located more or less in the center of the menu.
Step 5. Tap Call Forward
Step 6. Tap Voice Call
Step 7. Tap Always divert
This option is located at the top of the screen. A pop-up window will appear.
Step 8. Enter your voicemail number in the indicated field
Step 9. Tap Activate
Incoming calls will be automatically forwarded to voicemail.
If desired, video calls can also be automatically forwarded to the answering machine. To do this, just go back to the "Call forwarding" section after activating the forwarding of voice calls
Method 3 of 4: Using "Do Not Disturb" Mode
Step 1. Open the "Settings" of the device
To do this, drag the notification bar down from the top of the screen, then tap the gear icon
If you use this method, you will still get the call on your cell phone, only it won't ring
Step 2. Tap Sounds & Vibration
Step 3. Tap Do Not Disturb
A confirmation message will appear.
Step 4. Tap Activate Now
Do not disturb mode will have been activated. Even if you get a phone call, you won't hear the phone ring.
Method 4 of 4: Turning off the Galaxy
Step 1. Press and hold the power button
It is usually located on the right side of the phone. A pop-up window will appear.
Step 2. Tap Power Off
The mobile will then be turned off. As long as it remains, incoming calls will be forwarded directly to the answering machine.
- You may need to enter a password or scan your fingerprint to turn off the phone.
- To turn it back on, press the power button.
