This wikiHow teaches you how to find a nearby place, such as a restaurant, gas station, or ATM, using Google Maps on an Android device.
Steps
Step 1. Open Google Maps on your device
Depicted as a map, the icon is usually found on the Home screen or in the app drawer.
Step 2. Swipe up from the bottom panel
The panel will be extended and will show various places in the surrounding area, including "Restaurants", "Cafes", "Petrol Stations", "ATMs", "Pharmacies" and "Grocery".
Step 3. Tap a category
A list of relevant results will appear along with a map on which each of them will be marked with a pin.
Step 4. Tap a place on the list
More information about this place will be displayed. For some types of results (such as gas stations), price lists, reviews, or the phone handset icon may appear, allowing you to forward a call to the business number.
- To find out how to get to a place, tap the "Directions" button.
- To add it to your list of places, tap "Save".
