In the New Testament, Jesus affirms: "Truly, truly, I say to you: even whoever believes in me will do the works that I do and will do greater ones, because I am going to the Father." (John 14:12)
How to grow in faith, to have greater faith under the guidance of the Spirit of Christ.
The only mediator between God and men is the Savior Jesus Christ; It is He who acts as a mediator for you. How can you improve your faith? Read the following steps.
Steps
Step 1. Feed your faith:
measure your faith in God, by the word of God. Study the Bible, according to Romans 10:17, "Faith therefore depends on preaching, and preaching in turn is accomplished by the word of Christ."
- Faith is not nourished only by prayer, charity or fasting, otherwise Romans 10:17 would be just advice.
- In the Bible it says "pray continuously", therefore an attitude to prayer is essential, but faith comes by listening to and applying the word of the Lord.
- You need to keep reading and studying God's Word to nurture your faith. 2 Thessalonians 1: 3, states “Your faith in fact grows luxuriantly” by living on God's promise written in the Bible.
Step 2. Check the Bible, read the passage where Jesus had full faith in God, "without measure"
He is the living word of God. Faith is also called the "fruit of the Holy Spirit" that Jesus promised to send after the call to the Father. This ability is noticeable in people who are reborn in spirit even in the most difficult moments. Not only on happier days:
~ "… The fruit of the Spirit, on the other hand, is love, joy, peace, patience, benevolence, goodness, fidelity, …".
Step 3. You are reborn as a believer by repenting and living in Christ, so you will receive the faith and Spirit of God within you
This means that if you are born again in Christ, you will have a part of the "nature of God," as the Word says. No excuse: "Do not value yourself more than it is convenient to evaluate yourself, but evaluate yourselves so as to have a just evaluation of yourselves, each according to the measure of faith that God has given him." (Romans 12: 3)
Let faith grow within you, and it will do so in the unseen things you believe in. With God's will, so you can apply it and put it into practice. You will see the results in faith. It is not just a hope; it is the way in which God accesses the things of God
Step 4. Love your neighbor
How can you love God without seeing him, and not love your brothers who you always see. God reveals Himself through His people, His love, His son, His word and through the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of Christ.
In Galatians 5: 6 he states that faith works through love
Step 5. Have faith
To solve problems and move mountains, you just need to believe in God and follow His Word. Believe in the fact that God cannot lie. You cannot trust God without knowing Him through His friendship and His presence. God is count when you spend time studying, praying and praising Him, knowing Him and His way, truth and life (which can be found in the Bible).
Abraham in Romans 4: 19-21 had a very strong faith, he did not focus on his circumstances, he trusted the promise of God and praised Him
Step 6. Be accompanied by God and when you improve you will realize that this is having faith in Him
~ "if two of you on earth agree to ask for anything, my Father who is in heaven will grant it to you. For where two or three are gathered in my name, I am among them." (Matthew 18: 20)
Step 7. Cultivate faith by giving Him the opportunity to reveal Himself to you
You will recognize him, as He lives in your life. The companionship of the invisible God brings your spirit into the world with the kind of faith that can change visible things.
Step 8. Act according to your faith
Faith is expressed through actions, not just thoughts and words, as you believe that you can only receive it in this way, and that you will see the results because you believe that God will help you. God told Joshua we must be faithful to the scriptures:
~ "Let not the book of this law depart from your mouth, but give it day and night, so that you try to act according to what is written there; for then you will carry out your deeds and you will be successful." (Joshua 1: 8).
Note how in Mark 9:23, Jesus states that anything is possible for those who believe. "Believe" is a term that expresses an action. If no action were needed, Jesus would have said "Anything is possible to those who have faith." Faith is a name. Faith is a gift of God to men
Step 9. Think of God's Word
Meditation on the Word tells us how to behave according to the Word. Your proclamation and testimony of God's Word and deeds are part of prayer and meditation. When you read, reread, and voice Bible verses, you are meditating on the Word.
Step 10. Feed your faith by saying and thinking the same thing, practicing it honestly and not just pretending
God's Word is already being fulfilled, but it can't be fulfilled for you if you don't really believe it. The things you meditate on consist and are made up of what you believe in:
Be careful what you think.
What you think determines who you are.
Pay attention to how you place yourself in opportunities.
Those actions determine your faith, your identity and your character.
Pay attention to those aspects of your character, because they determine your priorities.
What characterizes your mind determines who you are.
So it is true that: "We are what we think" "(Based on common sayings.)
Step 11. Build yourself up through faith, and develop faith through prayer in the language of the Spirit
Prayer in language is a type of spiritual exercise according to the New Testament.
Step 12. Spend time praying every day, and meditate on the Word in your language and other languages, and you will be able to keep your spirit active rather than passive
The scriptures state:
~ "But you, dear ones, building yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit" (Jude 1:20)
Step 13. Let God enter your meditation and prayers, increase your being
Meditating on the Word and believing it can lead you to believe enough to turn according to the Word.
Step 14. Refuse to accept the doubt
Start praying when you feel negative thoughts coming from your mind and replace them with praise to God. If you believe in Him, you will have thousands of praises to give Him. He lives through His people, who believe in Him:
~ "Yet you are the Holy One, who dwells in the praises of Israel.]."
Step 15. Try to understand why God dwells in the praises of His people:
It was an honor for God, that the tent of the tabernacle became the stone temple, but now He is with you.
- The tabernacle is important for the faithful spirit, such as "Honor for God":
- But the universe is the temple of God, so what reason is there to build a temple in the human spirit?
- Heaven is his throne, the earth is his footstool. He cannot benefit from anything made by men, but he seeks faithful to serve him.
- In times of extreme difficulty, when it seems like God doesn't want to be faithful to you, when your faith is breaking, He is making your faith stronger. If you resist the temptation to doubt Him, you will come out stronger.
- Faith includes love of neighbor as He gives His to you. As he said, "I need to go away to send the Holy Spirit to you and stay with you forever." Share His love and spirit with others.
- Aim for success in your life by developing your faith through meditation on the Word and its proclamation.
- If you take many steps in the faith you will have greater stability in your religion.
- Keep in mind what Solomon said, "Whatever you do, do it wisely." But faith in God is not only "wisdom and philosophy", which may contradict the Bible, but also accepting the Word of God and accepting that his message is fulfilled according to what God has promised.
-
Do not think that you can increase faith by treating unbelievers badly or hating people.
You cannot hate those who make mistakes and allow the Holy Spirit and the Gospel to guide you. Be gentle. Jesus said "By this they will all know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another"
Step 16. Follow Jesus in faith within the divine nature of Christ as the way, truth and life:
In this way the redeemed, contrite and faithful human spirit can "be his favorite temple".
