Women with small breasts often have a complex due to the lack of curves on their chest, but the right lingerie can make a woman with small breasts feel feminine, sexy and confident nonetheless. Look for cuts that show off the skin and emphasize your natural chest as much as possible, and consider colors and decorative elements that give the illusion of fullness. Above all, however, first make sure you choose lingerie that fits your body correctly.
Steps
Method 1 of 3: Calculate the Correct Measure
No matter what lingerie you choose, it won't be sexy if it's not your size. Learn to measure your chest correctly.
Step 1. Stand with your back straight and shoulders relaxed
Step 2. Wrap a soft measuring tape around your body, placing the tape directly under your breasts
Step 3. Add 12.5 cm (5 inches in US sizes) to that number to find the band size
For example, if your measurement is 78.7 cm, you have a band measurement of 91.2. If you get an odd or decimal number, round it to the nearest even number.
Step 4. Wrap the measuring tape around the fullest part of your chest, at the height of your nipples, while wearing a bra
Don't squeeze.
Step 5. Subtract this number from your previous measurement, and use it to determine your cup size according to the following:
0 corresponds to AA, 1 inch (2.5 cm) corresponds to A, 2 inches (5 cm) corresponds to B, 3 inches (7.5 cm) corresponds to C, 4 inches (10 cm) corresponds to D, 5 inch (12.5cm) corresponds to DD, and 6 inch (15cm) corresponds to DD. For example, if your bust measurement is 97cm and your band size is 92, the difference is 2 inches (5cm), so a B cup.
Method 2 of 3: Choose a Suitable Cut
After the right measurement, the most important thing to consider when choosing the perfect lingerie is the cut. Look for necklines and fabrics that draw attention to the chest and show as much skin as possible to increase the illusion of abundance.
Step 1. Look for negligees and other items that have nice necklines
Think of American, heart, V, round, and lock necks for the best results.
Step 2. Consider empire-style dresses
Draw attention to the bust, helping to emphasize it.
Step 3. Choose lingerie with a fitted waist, especially if you have a thin enough waist
Less flowing fabric at the waist makes your chest look bigger.
Step 4. Show off any other part of your body that you are proud of
If you have long skinny legs, for example, look for lingerie that shows them off and don't worry too much about emphasizing your bust.
Step 5. Consider looking for lingerie with a sewn-on push-up bra
Try it out and look in the mirror to make sure it gives you the look you want. Some women find that lingerie with push-up bras makes breasts look too fake, while others like it.
Step 6. Use the pads with caution
Lingerie with padding in the cups can create a fuller look, but keep in mind that it can also look very unnatural if you use too much of it.
Step 7. Show your chest more, opting for less coverage
The more skin you leave out, the bigger your breasts will appear. Look for a balconette bra with a three-quarter cup, or half cup. Avoid full cup bras.
Step 8. Choose bras with cup shapes that work, such as triangle cups, or any shape that minimizes the amount of fabric between the two cups
Smaller breasts mean you can get less support, and less fabric can help create the illusion of a fuller chest.
Step 9. Consider choosing garments made of light, sheer fabric that shows more skin underneath
Step 10. Choose strapless or thin straps, as they reveal more skin and draw more attention to your chest
Method 3 of 3: Decorative Details
A few carefully chosen details can draw even more attention to your chest, creating a fuller look.
Step 1. Look for some light colored lingerie
Black thins everything, including your chest. Choose pastel colors or other light tones to create a fuller look.
Step 2. Consider garments with a design on the chest area
The designs attract attention. Horizontal stripes work particularly well, because they create a more abundant look.
Look for items with horizontal stripes on the top and a solid color for the bottom piece for best results
Step 3. Find lingerie that has a variety of feminine and decorative details on the top
Think bows, laces, pleats, curls and laces.
Step 4. Buy a lingerie set with a transparent robe or cover
These could help hide your small breasts.
Advice
- If you have a rectangular physique - small breasts and hips - add dimension to both the top and bottom by playing with curls and designs all over your lingerie.
- Have your bra size measured professionally if you are unsure of the results you would achieve on your own. Go to the lingerie department of a clothing store and ask if there is a professional for measurements. In most large stores there is one.
- Check each garment to make sure it is the right size before buying. Avoid straps that slip or lingerie that seems too big to you, even if the measurement on the paper matches.
- If you have a pear shape - a small bust with wide hips - try garments that are tight on the top with a soft skirt on the underside to hide the hips and bring the eye to the upper body.
